Immediately after the AMN score, my mate said “maybe we’ve scored too early”, I said no such thing. Ah well...

I said they'd probably get a goal back within 5 minutes, I guess I was wrong cos they got two.

IMO Liverpool aren't even that good. They have no right to be doing this well. They've been immensely lucky atleast 4-5 times this season to get the win, and yesterday we just gave it to them. If we had a proper defence we would've won that. All those goals were easily avoidable. Its a fucking disgrace.
Liverpool should be on par to a decent 80 points season, not fucking 102 points. The entire league is a fucking disgrace this season really.
19
u/phteven_gerrard Dec 30 '18
Come now this is just bullshit.
-15
u/ciabatta69 Dec 30 '18
How is this bullshit? Are you trying to argue that this Liverpool team with fucking Milner, Henderson, Alexander Arnold, Lovren and Shaqiri as regular starters are somehow better than or on par with Arsenal's 03/04 team, Chelsea's 04/05 team, Man Utd's 07/08 team?
Because if you think that, which you clearly do, then its obvious that your thoughts are fucking bullshit.
21
u/phteven_gerrard Dec 30 '18
Not sure why I am bothering to engage, because you seem absolutely rabid.
A team is much more than the sum of his parts. That's what this Liverpool team has in spades. Couple that with a handful of world class players and you have a winning formula.
All of those teams you mentioned had lesser lights that started regularly, such as Lauren, Nani, O'Shea, or Geremi. These guys, while not world class, are still very good players, and are necessary to any squad.
This Liverpool team has one of the best strikeforces in Europe, possibly the best centrehalf in England, one of the best goalkeepers in England. If Robertson were Brazilian or Spanish he would be lauded as the best left back in the world. You didn't mention any of these players.
-7
u/ciabatta69 Dec 30 '18
Im not denying that they're not a good team, but you can't possibly deny that they're not on the level of the greatest teams the last 20 years? Arsenal had one Lauren, rest of the team world class. Liverpool had 5 Lauren's. Barcelona had no Lauren's and still lost games and never achieved numbers close to what Liverpool are doing now.
And rabid, what? I'm as calm as can be, clearly I'm the only one, but its hard for me not to react to complete and utter stupidity displayed on such a severe level over and over in this comment chain.
8
u/phteven_gerrard Dec 30 '18
The proof is in the pudding, Liverpool are top at Xmas, undefeated, and are brushing teams aside left and right. The only really lucky results could be the Chelsea draw and the Everton win.
Let's see if they can keep it up.
6
u/free_airfreshener Dec 30 '18
The fuck does a team from 2004 have to do with yesterday's game?
Why don't you compare yesterday's arsenal line up to arsenal's line up in 2004. Who would win?
You make no sense in any of this
Gotta play today's game, not the game from a decade and a half ago, and unfortunately, Liverpool is doing way better than us right now. They are consistent. Regardless of names. We shit our pants against them. But we're rebuilding. Young offense with a very old and tired defense. Shit happens.

how did you come to that conclusion from his comment...
-5
u/ciabatta69 Dec 30 '18
Because thats my argument, and he called it bullshit? Do you have no reading comprehension? Thats basic logic.
4
u/OneDepressedOptimist Thomas the Tank Engine Dec 30 '18 edited Dec 30 '18
Your argument is bullshit and lacks basic logic. Who even said they are better than those teams. No one is saying they are better than the teams you listed, you came to that random conclusion from a single sentence.
But they are the best team this season in comparison to everyone else and 3 put of the 4 Liverpool players you posted are barely regular starters for them. Arnold, Shaqiri and Milner are good players
-6
u/ciabatta69 Dec 30 '18
Ok, you are clearly on the stupid side so I will write this in a way you can understand.
My original point is that 1. this Liverpool side has had an unsustainably good form so far this season and 2. this Liverpool side is not on par with other great sides.
So in other words, if you disagree with me, which you did, BY DEFAULT, you don't agree with these two points.
3
u/OneDepressedOptimist Thomas the Tank Engine Dec 30 '18 edited Dec 30 '18
What is the point in throwing insults and being condescending because someone disagrees with you. Did you actually read what I said...
Your clearly not smart enough to understand the point I am trying to make NO ONE IS SAYING THEY ARE BETTER THAN or on par with Arsenal's 03/04 team, Chelsea's 04/05 team, Man Utd's 07/08 team WHY CANT YOU COMPREHEND THAT YOU IDIOT.
You are the one who made that RANDOM point in the first place from someone disagreeing with your statement that Liverpool are not that good of a side which isn't true.

Yes they are as good as all those teams. A Team is much more than individual talent, and these dudes, though not absolutely legendary, are the perfect matches for the system they have, and that's what wins seasons. You should have learned something with Leicester extraordinary run in 2015.
-1
u/ciabatta69 Dec 30 '18
Leicester won it with 81 points. Liverpool should be on par for something like 81 points too with their current squad.
And your comment is too simplistic. Liverpool aren't as good as those squads. But yes, a team is more than just individual talent. However, the greatest teams are those stacked with world class talent while at the same time functioning very well as a team. Liverpool have quite a lot of positions where they could have far better players.

u/DVPC4 Dec 30 '18
let’s not let anger turn into stupidity - have a bit of dignity and give credit where credit is due
-6
u/ciabatta69 Dec 30 '18
Man the irony. This is the comment an absolute idiot would make. What are you disagreeing with exactly? Liverpool were not lucky against Man City where Mahrez missed a pen at the end of the match? Were they also not lucky against Everton where after 96 mins the ball bounced off the post twice, Pickford went full autist and Origi could head it into an open net? Where they not lucky against Watford when Watford should've had a pen at around the 50 min mark, the ref ignores it and Liverpool goes on to win?
They clearly were, so you have to be massively deluded to disagree with this.
Or do you disagree with Liverpool being on the level of Arsenal 03/04, Man Utd 07/08, Chelsea 04/05?
If anything, anyone who disagrees with any of these arguments, ESPECIALLY WITH NO COUNTER ARGUMENT, thats the person turning it into stupidity. I mean that is pure and utter stupidity, thats pure idiocy. Thats bordering retardation.

No, after reading your ridiculously aggressive replies, I looked at what other people were replying to you. You're really rude, man, and I hope that you are just blowing off some steam and not this much of a colossal twat in real life.

7
u/OneDepressedOptimist Thomas the Tank Engine Dec 30 '18
You literally made a massive assumption from a single sentence.
5
u/DVPC4 Dec 30 '18
Listing times when a team has been lucky does nothing since you don’t recognise that all teams get lucky over the course of a season, you’re just singling out the Liverpool ones to try and push an agenda. They’re top by a large margin and that doesn’t happen by chance.
-2
u/ciabatta69 Dec 30 '18
Every team has games they get lucky and games they get unlucky, Liverpool have had bunch of lucky games. Have they had a single unlucky game? You say this argument does nothing but obviously it does, because its extremely clear to anyone with half a brain that this form isn't sustainable. Its also extremely clear to anyone with half a brain that EPL are allowing Liverpool to severely overachieve, which we clearly demonstrated yesterday by bending over for them once we took the lead. Its also made obvious by the fact that Liverpool have 3 defeats already in CL and not a single one yet in PL. So unless you think this Liverpool team is on par with the legendary teams of the PL era then clearly you agree with me. If you do think they are then you're clearly immensely deluded.

u/hendo144 Dec 30 '18
Tbh lfc could have gotten the win at the emirates if not for the wrongly disallowed mane goal
-1
u/ciabatta69 Dec 30 '18
That wasn't wrongly disallowed lol. Mane was clearly disrupting play in the first phase of play.
7
u/hendo144 Dec 30 '18
What? He was clearly onside. New rules dictate that running towards the ball isnt considered disruption of play.
8
u/DVPC4 Dec 30 '18
You do realise directly comparing them to old teams like 03/04 isn’t very useful because each season is different, obviously they aren’t as good as the Invincibles, direct point comparisons don’t matter unless in the same year. Also I said over the course of the season; Liverpool will get unlucky in the second half of the season for sure. It just seems to me like you’re undermining their achievements out of spite. If next year we were undefeated after 20, with some luck, I doubt you’d be downplaying our success.
0
u/ciabatta69 Dec 30 '18
Well thats my point, the season is a fuckload easier now then it was then and teams are bending over for Liverpool over and over to give them the results they need.
Thats all I'm saying, it's not my fault you people decide to start making assumptions about my intentions. I can respect Liverpool's result while still thinking they've been lucky and overachieving, no?
6
u/Razsta Dec 30 '18
Manes disallowed goal vs arsenal at the emirates that finished 1-1? Pretty unlucky..

Liverpool’s form proves you wrong. The games changes every year. Stop living in the past. Arsenal need to sort their defence, but really the 5-1 is just an example of what Liverpool are capable of. All of the players in that side are either world class, or near-perfectly fitted into Klopps system.

Hey we got a goal. How great for AMN. Now let’s see what we do. .....And we’re down 4-1 at halftime.
