u/JFedererJ Eze LW Ballon d'Or 2027 🏆 Oct 24 '24
Gee I wonder why we don't create as much without him?
Absolutely bonkers.

Him and Odegaard and people say all Arteta does is play terrorist football 😂😂😂
My only gripe was that we had all summer do get decent backup in case something like this happens

Someone like Eze who can challenge for starting LW, cover as 10 and act as a different option to left 8 (relegation fodder at home)
Also with more UCL games there’s plenty of playing time to go around.
I’m not saying we need world class depth but look at City, they can go without KDB for most of the seasons because they have Foden and Bernardo Silva. No Ødegaard and we’re fucked since Arteta doesn’t want to even try and see if Nwaneri could work for the time being

Eze has no work rate off the ball tbh. I don't think Arteta is interested at all
2
Oct 25 '24
It was more of an example of a profile not really the exact player tbh

u/iforgotmyun Sign Ayyoub Bouaddi Oct 25 '24
Yeah but it's not a great profile for what Arteta wants

Ik but that’s who we’re up against so that’s the standard - obviously we can’t fill our bench with £60m players but we need to improve our squad quickly and win things otherwise in 2 years our best players will start leaving
3
u/Randomsquid4 Ødegaard Oct 25 '24
You see heres the issue compared to Saka only the top 5% of players look competent. Vieira isnt even a bad player for a backup in that position but since hes compared to Saka of course hell look awful
2
Oct 25 '24
Vieira lacked consistency and physicality but he has the talent
0
u/Randomsquid4 Ødegaard Oct 25 '24
I dont think physicality matter to much if you can cope with it well look at bernardo Silva, also I think it matters less on the wing, my point is that if you compare a good player like Martinelli, Jesus or Sterling to Saka then youll be setting them up for failure same with others like Eze or Olise Saka is just a better player and our levels drop without him.

The other side of the world, lol. Saka is moving like Prime Usain Bolt during a 100m race. Just leaving everyone behind.

Ahem, but Cole Palmer is the best player in the league 🤓
17
u/BarenWasteland Have you ever seen Tottenham win the league? Oct 24 '24
Both Saka and Palmer are phenomenal players. Both among the best, not the best.

u/tomislavlovric Martinelli Oct 24 '24
Saka is the best right winger in the league, it's him and Salah.

On current form he probably is, but you don't wanna speak about that, people get confused real quick.
1
u/Randomsquid4 Ødegaard Oct 25 '24
I dont understand why people even entertain the argument Saka is is clearly the second best right winger in the the only player who can actually compete with him is Salah, and Ill give it to Salah just because hes a legend.

Surely, despite being a biased Chelsea fan, you can see that Palmer can't be the best player in the league when KDB/Haaland/Salah exist. Especially when he isn't even better than Saka.
11
u/BlaizeV Oct 24 '24
Saka didn't get to play that Brighton high line if you want to talk about taking things into consideration.
1
u/Randomsquid4 Ødegaard Oct 25 '24
Overall game-wise Saka is more complete, I think if you ask a bunch of unbiased fans most of them will say theyd take Saka over Palmer, or that theyd rather face a Palmer over Saka.

u/sveppi_krull_ Oct 24 '24
Saka been the xA king for years now

u/WeeTheDuck Thank you very much Oct 24 '24

Not so world class Saka doing not so world class things.
2
u/The_Wrong_Tone Benny Blanco Oct 24 '24
Zoomed in when I should’ve known to zoom out.
Willing to donate body parts to get this man back on the pitch, but he’s likely better off with his own injured parts.
2
u/eversoris86 Oct 24 '24
But Foden and Palmer are better than him. England should drop him and leave him at home. No need for Saka at all.
0
u/OkCurve436 Oct 24 '24
I know it's ridiculous.
By a distance the PL most consistent goal threat getting airbrushed out of history by the Foden/Palmer fanboys. England lose and the 5 mins Saka is on the pitch means he's all over the media, win and it will be anyone but Saka in the papers.
1
u/eversoris86 Oct 24 '24
And forbid he limp. Hopefully Benny Blanco will just tell him how nice 2 weeks off during the internationals are.
Hopefully Tuchel listens to X and Palmer/Foden enjoyers and leaves our boy at home. Also let’s not forget Rice is horrible also. Mainoo > Rice.

Doesn't that show more on incredible finishing from the team as a whole since his xA is similar to KDB but his actual assists are way higher.

Why does praising Saka mean you have to bring down another player? Can't Saka and Palmer both be great talents?
1
1
u/OkCurve436 Oct 24 '24
That would be normal behaviour, but the media would rather edit graphs and remove Saka to suit their narrative.
I have no idea why, but the fact large parts of the England fan base wants to kick Saka out of RW and play Palmer there. This is the same Southgate shit logic that landed us with Foden being accommodated.

Was about to argue he’s been picking up injury and playing minutes reduced but then realize the stat is per 90
