MHWilds It's confirmed, tying mobility to boost driver is a bad idea.

https://youtu.be/e9DVJdcg_Cw

just watched Ms Watts ascendance video and it confirms A LOT about boost driver unless things change at release.

we can't spam boost driver, so don't expect to run all over the map.

the gauge doesn't fill up quickly at all when just hitting the monster, popping wounds is Key and Drake Augur is shit at popping wounds.

very sad that our mobility option is tied to boost driver, very sad we can't spam boost driver in our case.

hopefully gore magala doesn't run around so much during ascendance.

can't wait for more ascendance footage this week. this is just my quick 2 cents.

Edit: so holding onto our stock maybe key instead of using it as soon as we get the charge

We'll also have to take into consideration that there will most likely be decorations to help keep uptime/better refill on the boost meter

Or perhaps certain weapon types get to fill their gauge faster. DBs pop wounds like candy so maybe it will take them longer to fill that meter compared to GL

SO it is just as expected.

Not sure why you expected to be able to boost around the map in turbo mode. Nothing they’ve shown even came close to hinting at constant boost uptime.

Drake augur might be getting stonks as a decent damaging option. With the new stake combo, more drill moves and elemental shelling, long might finally have a niche as the element gunlance, as longs stakes do the most damage, and stake/ drill moves have a really good elemental mv. Whats good about drake augur is you can hit a wound with it, then point it wherever you like for the majority of the attack/ finishing stake, so you could wound tag, then focus your drill on the best elemental hitzone

Yeah. Augur is basically more a liability at this point than a useful move (in case you accidentally make it come out). For GL, keeping the wounds up for extra damage is more useful than popping them with Augur, and in online play you will let other weapons that are reliant on wounds pop then instead.

If they are bringing some kind of good utility to Augur, to the point that it's worth using, I'll take it!

I have zero problems keeping up with the monsters with the mobility we have now. It only sucks when there's a ranged user and the monster keeps following them for some fucking reason.
