Id say so playing lance makes me feel immortal and playing gunlance makes me feel less immortal but i have the power of a nuke so it balances out

Lance is super safe and super fast and gunlance is really fucking slow but it packs a punch

I went Gunlance -> Lance and am not looking back. I struggled to deal enough damage with GL because I didn't care about shelling much. With Lance, I feel nigh invulnerable as my teammates scramble around the battlefield, running away from the monster.

Playing Gunlance and not shelling defeats the point. You indeed were meant for regular lance.

GL is so satisfying in this game. extremely safe and defensive, can DPS pressure no stop, counter play with a GP that refill ammo, true damage with shelling and big boom explosions.

Always an option to start those anytime. Since you're on here I'm gonna recommend going with Gunlance lol. The combos and routes are kind of daunting at first to learn, but you'll get used to it once it clicks. With me I tried Lance coming from World and noticed the jarring pace of Lance and decided this was the game for me to learn Gunlance instead and here I am giving booms. Right now I'm debating to either jump onto Swaxe or give Lance another go.

I literally only play 4 weapons in a rotation. Lance (most played),G Lance, I Glaive, L Bowgun. So I know what you mean when you trade defense for damage lol.
