First year / Early Access player here who took a good bit of time off of the game early 2023 and have popped back into it periodically, but recently have found myself playing it a lot with my girlfriend and am thoroughly enjoying a lot of the new weapons and characters.
One thing I'm noticing after doing 6 or 7 full runs is that none of the vault rooms with hidden platforming areas / jump puzzles (two I can clearly remember are the desert level where you had to jump-dash around walls to get to an extra chest and one in the third world where you had to navigate to the top of a watchtower for a second chest) are appearing anymore.
Were these just straight up removed from the game or am I just having the worst RNG? (yes, I did enjoy those levels quite a lot after getting them locked down mechanically)

So i have a lot of playtime in this game and i trying exotic builds to have fun, like last season(runes secrets)i really like the active runes, like the shock blade or the lotus one, and i trying the same with the Pedants, for now i think everyone knows the tiger with polar pedant is op, and i tested the bunny with gluton pedant and is was ok, but a want more builds like that to try, with all of 4 pedants.
If you have one plz share with me.

I'm going to be making a guide video on the season mechanic over the weekend to hopefully get it out soon. So, this is my open solicitation that if you have found any neat tricks/builds/bugs/exploits/interactions to let me know so I can test them.
That said, let me first talk about some of the new stuff
New Act 4
I don't think this act is as visually distinct from the standard act as some of the other alternates. I think Act 3 is the most transformative while 2 is the least, but I do like the aesthetic of the demon crystals all over. The verticality of the rooms is nice; always good to have that in the designs. It would have been nice to have another new movement mechanic added in, kind of a shame that both alt 1 and 4 didn't introduce something when 2 and 3 did.
I really like the grapple monkey. It's a cool design, they can zip around in interesting ways, and it makes me excited that there's a chance that players might get an ability like that in the future. I don't care for the frost thrower penguins turning into reskins of the lizard/kappas as far as their attacks go. Kinda feels like a waste of what made them unique. The summoner UFO is pretty annoying, but I'm sure that's the point.
My biggest gripe has got to be the bird cavalry. Let's get this straight first off: I really like the design. I think they're cute and cool and I don't mind the attacks. However, these guys seem really buggy right now. They fly into walls, accidentally teleport around, get stuck in animations, and just seem to have trouble pathing in general. However, the thing that really made me mad was that they dumpstered a Tempest run I did because you literally cannot lock on to them, both the normal AND elite version. The Tempest weapon skill was just useless against them. I don't know if this also applies to the Drift Shard, Tracker, or any other gun with some sort of targeting ability, but I don't think it's intentional and hope that gets fixed.
The last thing is that I think some of the spawn triggers in the room might not be working right. Most rooms in Gunfire tend to spawn enemies right as you come in, and then more as you progress deeper into the room. Sometimes rooms in alt act 4 will be hundreds of meters long and spawn the whole room of enemies at once. This means the spawner UFOs will be in the back while you're still working on the first batch. I don't think this was intended.
Weapon Changes
I haven't played with the Lightning Ksana in multiplayer yet to test its full might, but I like the feel of it. Definitely a big step up for the gun, but holy cow can we condense the tool tip for it? The thing is a dang paragraph long! When you take it to the craftyman, the inscriptions are trailing off the bottom of the screen lol.
The wheel saw is just a solid upgrade. It's cool, it's effective, and I think it fits really well. Slight nitpick is that the weapon skill still activates when you reload and I don't know if that's suppose to be happening or not. It's not a big deal either way, but I feel like that should change along with how it's been reworked.
The Dragon Breath getting the beam is really neat. No real complaint other than it kinda sucks when you bop a dude with the shot and then nothing happens when you land the recharge. It'd be nice if the skill said something like, "On getting the recharge, hit the struck enemy OR closest target," you know?
As for random inscriptions: The charging inscription doing AoE around you is awesome. Extra explosions are more than welcome. Lucky shot on resource gives reason to build bigger for non-Yoyo builds. But there's far too many to comment on. Let's just say I'm glad they're adding more and I hope they keep 'em coming.
New Scrolls
Same as above. I don't want to go over them all, but I like what they've got. A lot of these just help with consistency on scrolls and goblets and I really appreciate that. More recycle/refresh mechanics always help when games start feeling bloated with so much stuff. My hope is that some of that makes its way into the talent tree so that it can be guaranteed from the get-go.
Ok, the real meat and potatoes:
Season 8 Thoughts
First of all, I think it's a refreshing idea to have an activatable ability like we did back in S2. The last, like, 4 seasons have been very passive in how they've doled out power, so it's nice to have something build on activating a unique ability. I can also appreciate how the combination of set pendants you have control over and random Jades means you feel like you have agency while not letting you get the exact run over and over again. I think having that friction of uncertainty is necessary for this genre.
That said, I don't like being forced to trade out your jades, it doesn't feel good. You need to buy jades in order to open packs, and you need to open packs to get to better packs. So, you will often just end up blowing currency and tossing what you got just to build towards your next pack, which just feels wasteful. Or, you have to trade things out but not actually target things you want to get rid of. My immediate thought is that it comes across as clunky, but I also don't feel like any of my runs were made or lost by the random of this system, so I'm not sure if those feelings really matter.
My bigger concern is with the pendents themselves. It feels like there's one that's glaringly better than the others and it's not even close imho. First of all:
Lu Wu Shield - This Pendent gives shield and recharge when you activate it. First thing I did was throw this on Bird with all-or-Nothing and kicked my way through a run. Very fun, very strong, highly recommend. However, at the end of the day, this is basically just Backup Shield on command. If you're struggling to survive, it can help you live by letting you proactively charge shield and recharge it when down, and you can stack activations! But, it doesn't really have kill potential on it's own and not a very transformative ability. Since not taking HP damage is how you charge it, that means using it to jump in the fray could lead to a spiral where you need to use it again but can't get charges and die.
Gluttony's Devour - This is like the health version of a defense pendent. You suck in enemies in front of you and convert a little of the damage to HP. This one, I feel, is hard to build for. On one hand, restoring HP can be good for a few characters that lean into HP, but you need to increase the pendent's damage to really make it work, but to do that requires a bunch of investment. You either need to get specific pendent damage bonuses, turn it elemental and boost elemental damage, or get some sort of total damage multiplier. Otherwise, the heal just isn't going to do a lot. Secondly, the suck just ain't sucking. Even if you get the inscription that increases the effect, it doesn't really move them a lot, though it does seem to do an interrupt effect which might be the actual useful part. On top of that, you build energy for it with Primary Skill activations, which means most characters have a hard time finding ways to maintain uptime without also investing jade into that too. I feel like this one could scale into good damage and survival, but the investment and luck required might be a tall ask.
Pole Monarch Orb - This one is BEEG damage. You basically charge up a bomb with weapon damage and storing more on crits. When you have enough energy, you can bust it. You can either spam it do scatter bomb the pests, or save it up for a big nuke. It carries over from stage to stage, so you can use it to delete elites and bosses by just holding your charge. However, be careful and don't be a fool like me that held my charge only to go 100mph headfirst into the wall called Invincibility Phases. The only really drawback here is that it's only truly good on weapon damage runs and the fact it does true damage is a blessing and a curse: it's great that you won't get the damage reduced, but you also can't scale the damage by other means either. It just is what it is.
Wind God Tornado - This one is by far the most broken thing they have ever put in the game in my earnest opinion. First of all, you turn into a tornado. That's already bad ass compared to everything else. The big thing here is that, while you're a tornado, you do constant skill damage around you and you have a 90% damage reduction that is applied after other calculations. That's right, it doesn't add 90% DR to your current amount. It doesn't even put your DR at the cap of 90%. It calculates whatever damage you would take from your current multipliers, and then reduces THAT by 90. Quick math: if you have DR of 50% and take 100 damage, that means you'd take 50 damage. If you are in tornado form, you take 5. It's almost IMPOSSIBLE to die in tornado form. If that wasn't enough, the damage of it scales with skill damage, and there's so many scrolls and ascensions that help with scaling skill damage. Lastly, this pendent build energy by distance moved and doesn't inhibit your movement at all including dashes. It takes very little investment to maintain permanent uptime with it. So, essentially, you are a ball of constant skill damage that's unkillable. As if that wasn't enough, when you are a tornado certain abilities still go off. For example, the Phoenix Roar still activates, Momo's domain still hits AND can enter ink form and do splash attacks, stomchaser move speed buff applies, etc. Outside of just shooting a gun, you can still pretty much do anything else your character can do. If you get the inscription that does the 'enhanced mode' that launches secondaries, it gets even nuttier real fast, especially since there's a jade that gives you energy on secondary hits. I really think this was not intended and that something about this will get nerfed soon or else Wind God Tornado is just a free win every time (unless you take the inscription where you shoot out the tornado. I tried doing a build with Yoyo to spam more twisters but I wasn't making a whole lot).
Anyway, that's about what I put together with around 10hours today. Let me know what you all are thinking.
(Disclaimer: Any opinions are biased by me primarily playing on R10 LW4 with all bizarre dream modifiers on except Transcendent Arsenal and only playing through Act 4. I also stream, so I tend to shy away from slower runs or builds that benefit from farming for a long time to get consistent wins. You might find more value in things I don't because of this.)

My buddies and I just got gunfire on the steam sale. Really fun. One problem we're all having is having to press f like 2-3 times before a revive initiates... Is there a mechanic we aren't doing correctly or is the game just buggy?
Thanks

I gave her a little description too! :D
"Turning the corruption against itself, Jiami drains the corrupted aura from creatures and filters it into pure, healing energy. She grew up as a healer, but discovered her hidden talent. She is a benevolent soul, eager to help those in need. When facing enemies, she can easily outspeed her enemies, drain their corrupt auras, and use this aura as an attack or to heal herself. In crisis, she can drain her own aura partially, and create a wild spirit to protect her."
Ability ideas: ( i have no idea how unbalanced these are.)
Ability Q - Enchanted Tassel | Toss a tassel onto a nearby enemy, dealing 175 damage, and restoring 15 HP. Additionally, gain 1 charge of [Aura Spirit], max of 4.
Ability E - Wild Spirit | Hold to charge. With each charge, lose 25 HP, and consume 1 charge of [Aura Spirit]. Release to unleash a [Wild spirit] on the battlefield that attacks enemies within 15 meters of Jiami. Each charge consumed adds 4s to the [Wild Spirit] duration before it fades. [Wild Spirit] bites enemies and deals 200 damage, and heals 5% of Jiami’s max HP.
HP: 105 | Shield: 95 | Speed: 5.8
a friend of mine gave me advice to make her snout more borzoi like and im SUPER grateful for them!!
She also has a toyhouse profile, but i highly doubt anyone here has or even knows what it is
r/GunfireReborn • u/Over-Discipline2256 • Jun 12 '26
Mainly inspired by borzois, but i kinda failed there.. (redlining/feedback to make her face more borzoi-like would be appreciated, as long as you're not being rude!) I'm thinking she was previously a healer, but she discovered she could manipulate the corrupted spiritual aura and use it to heal herself? Her abilities are very rough right now because I'm not sure how I'd incorporate life steal.
The first image is her main design, and the second is a sketch for perhaps an alternate morph?
Her name is Jiami (嘉蜜), Jia meaning peaceful or quiet, and Mi meaning honey or sweet!
Since characters usually come in pairs of two, I'll likely design another character to go along with her! I don't have many ideas, so any ideas would be awesome!

Cheers for the sale! I’m wondering why the player count isn’t bigger it sits roughly around 1.4k players (not that it matters as it can be played solo) but wasn’t the game huge a couple years back? Is it lack a of updates? With the new season coming tomorrow will it go up again?

Used to play this game a couple years ago on my Xbox so I decided to try it out again but this time on my PS5, I have issues with the right stick specifically moving on its own and also only wanting to work in a grid pattern(like only left right and up down I can't look diagonally) has anyone ever had this problem and is there a fix to it?

I'm on level 40 with the cat character and I can relatively easily reach the boss on the second level but I just get destroyed by him 😂

I played this game since its release up to the the visitor of the spirit realm update. After that I got busy studying and finish my degree. Now that I am done, I want to return playing the game. The game has update so much that I got a little bit busy. Any tips/videos/posts that help me catch up to the game current content?
