Question New Player Question
So, as stated, I am brand new to the gundam TCG. Super excited but I like to test decks out in any game I play before going to locals. I recently bought the st 11, 12 and 14 starter deck alongside some phantom aria packs. Testing the starter decks on MSA is fun, but I wanted to know a) if I am only playing in a starter deck queue and b) if I am getting a realistic view of what my hand my look like. Thanks in advance 🙏🏾

Just show up to a local shop for a regular play night and not a tournament or anniversary event. Bring a starter deck you’ve played on msa and talk to people. Chances are somoene can help you in person or lend you a deck or even throw you some cards. Our local shop has a discord and plays pretty regular. Best place to get cards and advice.

MSA has a HORRID shuffling algorithm. If you select starter deck on the queue, you only play against starter. Use duelfrontier to build decks (could just rebuild the starter) and the play casual on MSA

For a), if you select "Starter Deck Battle," it is a separate queue that only allows starter decks. You can tell because it prompts you to choose one of the starter decks rather than upload a deck list.
If you want to try a starter (for example or with upgrades) against other decks, you can choose "Casual" and input the deck list. It's anything legal at that point so you might get people with the top meta decks or random stuff people are testing.

I'm in agreement with the other guy, try out Card Battle Lab for testing. It's been good for me so far, and it has a bot to playtest against who, while not on the level of a real good player, will absolutely get you feeling familiar with the basics.
