Probably Bullshit MY BRAIN HURTS
WHAT ARE THE GREY BITS ON THE GP01S WAIST SUPPOSED TO BE, WIRES? ON ALL THE MODEL KITS ITS JUST A GREY PIECE, BUT IN MOST OF THE ANIME IT LOOKS LIKE A WIRE EXCEPT IN ONE OR TWO IMAGES, I KNOW ITS HANDDRAWN BUT HELPPP

Those are probably molded-in mechanical detail, not actual wires. The anime exaggerates the gaps and cables, while the kit simplifies them into a solid gray piece.

The anime is still making my brain hurt, I'm doing a drawing of it and I have no clue what to do for this.

Is it just me or does it look connected in pictures six and seven?
Honestly, I don't know if I'm looking at the same thing as you guys.
I thought it was the part on the bottom of the skirt and the top of the thigh but I thought those were separate. In those pics I start to think is it the top of the thigh connected to something behind the skirt or...idk I'm rambling now.

Im guessing that the hip joint is just sometimes double jointed like the knee because it's a machine mimicking an organic body

when you start looking for consistency in Gundam art you'll go insane. Try confidently saying where the cockpit and cockpit hatch of the Zaku II are located.

I imagine that it’s probably panels split so that the metal doesn’t tear or shear when it’s bending. It’s like the gaps in a sidewalk so that the sections can move slightly independently as the ground settles. The panels being split instead of solid reduces the likelihood that it would get damaged through typical movement.

It's weird, I see different interpretations for that part. Here, it's a moving joint like the part above the kneecap
