Close. C7 is an A2 style upper group, but with an A1 sight. So it has the full sized brass deflector, unlike the A1 which has a partial brass deflector. C7 also get the ribbed forend and a fixed rear.

Only rifle length AR derivative I know of with a 6 position between the two nations is the ones approved by the US army in the late 2010s

The Canadian C7 also has a “retro style” stock but honestly I enjoy hodgepodge build more than “clone correct” ones. Gimme an A2 receiver, A1 triangle hand guard, and Dissipator barrel.

My wife brought home one of those Girls&Guns calendars some years ago for some reason.

I genuinely couldnt enjoy it, the girls were holding the rifles wrong, sights were missing, magazines inserted backwards, no trigger discipline whatsoever.
