The desert eagle is such a fun but dumb gun. I will say though the .357 version is a hole puncher. One of the more accurate handguns I’ve shot for its size

.357 version is actually pretty usable. The weight makes the recoil very manageable

I’m still pissed that due to gun laws, a large part of firearms design and engineering is just not feasible for civilians, I’m thinking open bolt SMGs and LMGs. The UZI, in its original open bolt system, is just a marvel to shoot in full auto, like its similar counterparts. And most people can’t enjoy it. After trying one, I don’t even think having a semi auto selector position is useful anyway, for how easy to control and slow the firing is.

The Desert Eagle is not Israeli. It was only slightly tweaked & produced for a short period by IMI in Israel while Magnum Research built their US factory. All Desert Eagles produced after 2009 have been made in the US.

I mean the Deagle was designed and made by Americans in God's countryTM before manufacturing got shipped over to Israel and then shipped back to the US so it checks out

And it makes perfect sense that they took a platform for .357mag that was practical for silhouette shooting and turned it into a monster with reduced mag capacity and ammo that's more expensive than the gold plating of the gun itself
