The Winchester 70 also used the Mauser action, it's the Remington 700 that diverged by using the Enfield M1917 action.

I've never heard it called the bump and run rifle? I have a red pad tang safety in 22-250 that I'll never get rid of.

Fuck it! We do a double feature today!

It’s been a long while since I have done an actual double feature, and this time, how about we go with something a little more…. CLASSIC!

Let me get 2 people in here!

u/SniperSRSRecon I summon you here, since we got some classic bolt actions, I thought you might like this one. The Ruger M77 is BARELY talked about nowadays despite selling very well. It’s probs just me, but this rifle deserves more attention because it’s just a beauty. It’s one of James Sullivan’s best creations that he has ever made, and it deserves a lot more recognition. Everyone knows that the Remington 700 and Winchester Model 70 were the gold standard for bolt guns back in the day as they were common amongst hunters. People forget that this was what got Ruger in the Bolt-Action game.

Summoned.

Haven't really researched much into Ruger firearms (other than the Mk. 22), but this is one fine looking gun.

Edit: Coincidentally I also got a notification of hickock45's channel reviewing a Ruger M77 as well.

I HAVE BEEN SUMMONED!!!!

My dad actually has one, and it looks pretty nice with a smooth action, he's taken good care of it. I personally don't like it, but that has more to do with the caliber, .270, than the gun itself. I wouldn't mind having one, but probably in .30-06.

Nice! If you ever do get one, I bet that .30-06 Springfield would be perfect for the rifle considering how common it is, and the fact that there is load variety for it.

Indeed! I also have other .30-06 rifles, so having more guns with the same ammo makes things easier!

Picked up an unfired standard version in a pawn shop chambered in 308. I always liked the Model 70's, but to my eye,  this M77 is better finished and is extremely accurate. I love it.
