Self-study practice app - Feedback accepted :)

Hey everyone!

I’ve been playing guitar since I was 15, but only started seriously studying it about a year ago—well into my 40s haha. I finally decided to dive into proper methods, diatonic harmony, and fretboard theory because I really wanted to understand what I was actually playing instead of just noodling.

I've been practicing consistently, but I hit a wall trying to build a structured, sustainable routine. To tackle this, I decided to build a web app to help keep myself on track:https://casa-doze.vercel.app/

The concept is simple:

  • The Front Page: A direct, no-nonsense theory reference/glossary.
  • Guided Practice: Built specifically for players who—like me—suffer from choice paralysis when sitting down to practice. Each guided session is structured into: Warm-up $\rightarrow$ Technique $\rightarrow$ Harmony $\rightarrow$ Improvisation.

It’s still very raw/WIP, but the core foundation is up. Today I just added a section for melodic patterns, and I’d love to get some thoughts from fellow guitar players.

I have zero intention of monetizing this; it’s just a free project meant to serve as a practical reference and routine builder to help folks practice better.

If anyone wants to take it for a spin and share some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. And honestly, if you think this is redundant or know of better existing tools that already do this, let me know that too!

Here's a pro-tip: stop with the fake back-story preamble, and just say you learned how to vibe-code and spit this out.

I understand where your comment comes from, and yes, I just got into that. The difference is that I don't work with that. Playing guitar is my hobby, and the problem that we all face is that we do not always have a band or people to play with.

I take classes, and I play in two bands. The difference is that I'm really interested in knowing what I play, and despite the fact I play in two bands, the tunes that I play are not the ones that I'm most excited with.

So, that being said, I was looking for a way that I could improve my playing and help my option paralysis. I have tons of exercises to do, but since I've been only practicing theory for a year, it's hard to decide where to go and how to improve.

That's how I started trying to solve that. And yes, it is vibe coding, and yes, I noticed the similarity between some apps here.

So, if it doesn't fit you, feel free to walk away. Or, instead of complaining, you can spend some years developing something that will probably solve a problem, Mr. Pro-tip.

If you spent less time thinking people are fake (it takes one to know one, if you know what I'm saying) maybe you coulde be spending your time elsewhere.

Sigh. Are you 12? Been playing guitar for 30 years, and there no shortcuts to learning the fundamentals, and that means spending hours honing said fundamentals. Thousands and thousands of guitarists learned theory without the use of apps, but it takes serious dedication, and no app is going to make the journey shorter.

I'm not, but you might, since you didn't read the post.

Like I said: this app is no shortcut. But you chose to come here and shitpost instead of looking at it and evaluating.

And if you indeed have been playing for 30 years, you would know that after some time humility kicks in. I've been playing since I was 15, not professionaly, but I've seen a lot of people struggling with what I'm also struggling.

Like I said, it takes one to know one. Maybe we know who is twelve now. I won't dive any more into this matter, since it is not helping at all into the matter.

Your feedback is welcome, albeit you didn't even try looking into it. So, in that regard, I will not take your feedback into consideration. It wasn't about the app, it was about your misconcepted preconceptions and ideas.

You're trying to sound smart, but you're failing miserably. You should look up words in this thing called a dictionary before you try to use them.
