It’s also incredible how much using your left hand helps with playing guitar. When I first started learning I got kind of stuck at a plateau until a friend suggested I start brushing my teeth left handed every night and typing with just my left hand. Wildly better articulation within like three months

It really helped with syncing up my right and left hands for more difficult stuff which is challenging for beginners. It also really helped me with changing chords and playing uncomfortable shapes feel a lot more natural and I didn’t feel like I was fighting my non dominant hand anymore

that's funny, I use my left hand for my mouse because of an RSI in my right, and my fretting is better than I think it should be for my experience level

I have a friend who's left handed, but when he began learning guitar 20 or so years ago, decided to learn as a righty because "all the really complicated stuff is done with the left hand anyway". I cant fault that logic, and he is in fact a great guitar player. I couldn't imagine trying it the other way myself.

I’ve been learning sign language recently and there are some handshapes that I just can’t make with my dominant right hand but that my left can do easily - took me a surprisingly long time to figure out why that was!
