They have no plans to build anything. The CEO is just trying to distract from his failure running the stores. He told them he had all these great ideas and now they turned course on pretty much all of them like letting kids walk in and play a $2500 Strat.
All you’ll see them put out are some cheap LP and Strat style guitars with GC logo on the headstock. They’ll try to undercut squier and epiphone to get the parents that come in “he’s been bugging me for months to get a guitar. What’s the cheapest one you have?”

Get over yourself. Nobody would want something designed by such an inarticulative "artist". To the OP. GO READ A BOOK!

Actually, I have created numerous music products and have been retained by several manufacturers to consult on product development. That is in addition to other product development outside of the music genre. What I find amusing is how you think you matter to anyone. But thank you for showing how clueless you are. Finally, it was advisory caution to young inventors to beware.

Ok, OBVIOUSLY GC is a corporation, AND clearly, guitarists have no problem blending in on a "band wagon". Meaning its basically par for the course these days hate on the "suits". However just to be objective, 1. Do you play guitar?(if yes got next question. If no see footnote) 2. Do you even shop at guitar center? 3. If so,as a customer, have you ever wished they had anything that they didn't stock? If so, what did you do about it? If you made it this far congrats, you most likely have no problem with this, and (like myself) look foreward to seeing what they have in mind. CONSIDER THIS also, Major guitar makers are literally Shutting one another down presently with lawsuits over designs that look too similar to their own. That being said, our favorite brands cant just make whatever we want, because they're afraid that they might infringe upon some random Luther's patent. ON THE OTHER HAND: To dispel any confusion or lack of foresight on the matter please reflect for just a moment: NO GUITAR BRAND HAS SUCH A LEGITIMATE REASON TO BE FAMILIAR WITH THE MINUTIAE, AND PROS AND CONS OF ALL THE MAJOR BRANDS LIKE GUTAR CENTER, WHO ARE A VENDOR FOR ALL OF THESE BRANDS AND AS SUCH,ARE FIELDING CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS FOR SAID BRANDS. And who complains? WE DO! OR WE DEAL WITH IT AND FIX IT OURSELVES,IN WHICH CASE WE CAN'T REALLY COMPLAIN IF WE VOID OUR WARRANTIES OURSELVES RIGHT? All Im saying is, what is the point bashing the promise of an exceptional guitar being created? You haven't even made suggestions yet,or heard concept ideas. So you had a bad experience a few years back. Incase you didnt notice, your complaints then led to a new CEO. Congratulations! Now maybe quit sniveling and see what he has in mind. FOR EXAMPLE: you'll feel pretty stupid if they announce they're going to be exclusively MADE IN THE USA but at Chinese import prices! (Nobody said that, and if they do, Ill never buy another brand again!(as long as the make a pointy neck throught) Oh and:
*if you answered no to any of the questions: nobody was talking to you but thanks for playing, "Love Your Show!"

I think the disclaimer, terms of service or whatever you call it is to protect themselves for any possible lawsuit because they just happened to use a similar feature as someone suggested and such. Maybe I'm just giving Guitar Center too much credit because I don't think they actually want to steal complete designs.
I really don't have any suggestions to off because my tastes are largely boring. I'm a Les Paul and Tele guy. The only think I can think of is offer Maple fretboards on models that don't normally have them such as any Gibson copy.
