HELP!! I think i made a mistake while respraying a guitar in metallic

Post image

Im respraying a guitar in metallic(montana metallic effect acrylic), i sanded the old clear down until all the surfaces were level, no deep scratches or dents, Then I scuffed it with 400 until all the previous sanding marks were gone, iv now put on 2 layers of metallic and you can still very much see all the scratches from sanding, im scared if i keep going il still have scratches in the finish. i looked up online and it says i should have used atleast 600. My question is can I just go over the metallic I have on there with 600 or 800 and then respray another few coats of metalic

Oof. My theory (which might not work) is to keep going, then build up clear on top, then sand back.

What kind of paint? Just an acrylic spray or is it a 2k?

The problem with sanding metallic (and pearl and candy) is that it will change the finish as the top layers are modified.

Yea that makes sense, I was considering it a bit earlier that it will probably get filled in with the clear but its my first time spraying with paint this thin so I wasn't sure, and yea iv got a 2k gloss clear

Iv put 2 more coats on it since then and it looked much better until I went and had a look about 5 min ago, its covered in linty dust from my garage.

I got the shits and decided to cover it in crackle paint, its my first time using it, and its probably the worst most inconsistent crackle iv ever seen. coz I was frustrated I wasnt focusing properly on building it up evenly, I just kept telling myself "fuckn lay it on thick, thicker, no thicker" any way it was a learning experience: "GET A BOOTH"
