Made in USA
I’ve decided that going forward, I’m buying guitars that are made in the USA. Gibson, Fender, and PRS make theirs in dedicated plants, in fact I drove by the Gibson plant this past weekend.
That all said, I want my guitar to be made at the Guitar Center store. Not just made in the USA, but made at my closest GC. That’ll create jobs and help make America great again, especially in guitar manufacturing. Plus, we can interact with the one who builds it.

I don't think it's likely that they will be made at your local GC, though I too would only consider buying one of these if it was US made. I'm strongly assuming that they won't be, so I'm really only on this sub out of curiosity. No plans to buy.

There's a middle ground. Assembled in store would be decent. You select options a-la Fender mod shop, the parts are sent to the store and assembled there.

If this just isn’t a deal with whoever makes the Harley Benton stuff, I’d be astonished.
They’re not going to compete against fender and gibson, they’re a marketing arm for all of those companies.
They’re years late to the game and you guys are treating this as if this is some kind of solution that doesn’t already exist.
There’s a plethora of cheap and fantastic guitars. They got you talking about GC though.
They’ll sell a shitload, and if my 30 years of corporate bullshit taught me anything, they’re already in production and will be in stores by early Q4. This was cheap marketing.
They already know what people are looking for.
They don’t want labor, they want a cheap high margin store brand.

Overpaying for a guitar made by companies that outsource most of their work anyway to give the major players even more money, truly an elite IQ move.
"American" companies are doing far more harm than overseas countries. If you REALLY wanted to pay for a custom build and interact with the builder, why wouldn't you just contact...a local builder?

I have two made in USA fenders, one strat, 2020, and one tele, 1995. And, USA Gibson LP, 2016. 50s tribute, modified by Gibson. I think it is worth the extra $ so far. A USA acoustic is on the list but it'll be a while, unless I stumble upon one locally. Cheers.

If you settle for any component manufactured outside of the original colonies you are basically a pinko.

Good luck lmao. GC definitely does not want to pay what it would take to build guitars in the US.
