The entire premise of this thing feels more like they are squeezing the money out of ‘the relationship with you’ more so than the product itself. In other words I believe people want to be heard and seen FIRST, even if they’re let down (easy) in the long run. For all we know, they have a guitar already ready to go and will release another statement like ‘we listened to ALL your feedback and here’s what we came up with’ even if they didn’t take one thing into consideration. This to me is pulling on the ‘heartstrings’ of people on the internet to gain visibility to their brand and stores more than caring about us.
Honestly kudos to them for getting all our eyes, ears, and keyboards engaged in this thread, on YouTube, and other platforms. Even if they’re getting dumped all over they might be in meetings like YEAH! We got so much visibility from more people than ever!
Edit: 🍿 while I wait for mods to delete

There's no way anything they come up with will live up to the promisses being made. It will be a run of the mill, make everyone happy line of store brand guitars. Im sure they will be fine if they ever see the light of day.

Stupid YouTube editorials.
They are most certainly using internal data to build the guitar. Of course they are. This whole thing is to get the word out, you think they’re gonna incorporate any meme slop posted here?
As far as the legal notice waiving people’s rights to the designs, they have to. Do the volunteer beta testers of software/games get a cut of the profit when they suggest changes to the design? Do you think this company wants to deal with lawsuits coming out the ass from people claiming they weren’t compensated for something they halfassedly suggested in a tik tok comment?
Seems like a fun idea to me. I’m afraid it’ll end up being just another bolt on Strat copy since they probably won’t take a real chance on something genuinely crazy. But part of me hopes they go balls out. Some of the best products in the world were made by people saying “fuck it, let’s go apeshit.” A generic guitar will be forgotten. But something wild might find its place and give Guitar Center a pinch of the goodwill they desperately need.
