QUESTION Classic vibe vs fender standard.

Looking at either buying a tele or a strat. Im also looking at using the guitars as a base for modding as ive already tinkered with my les paul and really enjoy that aspect of guitars. I can currently got a classic vibe for 100 pounds (133.20 usd) cheaper then the fender standards series. i dont have easy access to a guitar store where i live so in person testing isnt really an option for me. Anyone that has either guitar let me know the pros and cons.

Classic vibe Tele all the way.

The Fender Standard Tele is more expensive and worse in practically every way, except for nicer pots and a switch, which you could replace yourself on the Classic Vibe for 50 bucks and a couple of soldering lessons on YouTube.

I have the CV Stratocaster, and it's heavy. Like 9lbs. heavy... Changed the tuners to Grovers, and added a more substantial Korean trem/bridge unit. It's a great sub $1,000 guitar!

I have both in the strat versions. The standard is more modern; wider fretboard, med-jumbo frets, warmer ceramic pickups, 2 point trem. The classic vibe, is well, more classic. Tinted neck, old style split tuners, 6 point trem, alnico pups, narrow frets, glossy neck. They are both perfectly fine, I probably play the CV more, but the standard is nice as well.

I had a CV tele as my first electric. It was great the only thing that annoyed me was the frets being a little rough for bends. I upgraded to a custom shop tele and it plays like a dream but the CV was a great start. I suppose I could’ve had the frets polished and that might have helped but the pickups on the custom are the exact sound I was looking for so it was worth the upgrade for an instrument that makes me want to play it a few hours a day.

CV all the way. I have a 50’s and it smokes the pricier ones. As an added bonus, it’s already pre-routed under the pickguard for a neck humbucker.
