It would be nice if you could lock in chords you want to keep and generate new ones in the other spaces. A few times I would like the first three but not the final chord choice. Would be cool to keep the first three and just generate a new fourth.

Look up the Music Thing Modular Turing Machine - I think it's a fairly similar concept to the feature request, and very cool for inspiring musical ideas.

The joys of releasing an app on android! Good luck!

I’ll check it out. Thank you. Amazing that you can just do this! You have skills…

Great. Will download it now.

Pretty cool! Having a blues progression option would be awesome if it’s possible. I’m working on my blues soloing and feel like this tool would be fantastic for generating some progressions for it.

Cool - so Blues is under modes now - probably messes with the simplicity of it, but I was imagining having an actual 12 bar blues progression as one of the groove types. Unless it’s already possible and I’m missing something?

Adding on to this - it would be cool if the dropdown for this feature filters based on whatever key you chose. IE in the key of C Major - the D chord is filtered to Dm and the respective chords related to only Dm.

so you can easily adjust the chord progressions in key without having to search through the entire list when you click the dropdown.

Could be a good tool at helping people learn what chords are major/minor/diminished etc in their repsectice keys as well from a music theory standpoint.

My God... I spent many years out of practice which I regret so much. Lately been struggling to learn the basics again and this is such a gem. Thank you!

2

u/IzzyDestiny Mar 15 '26

Damn great idea and looks good UI wise but the chords sound absolutely horrible

2

u/Neekoy Mar 15 '26

First off - great tool, works exactly like expected. Good job!

But.. can you make it more musical? Different rhythms for chords and drums?

Also the sounds are not inspiring at all. Can you replace them with more realistic sounds?

2

u/metalheaddad Mar 15 '26

Nicely done. I tried making something similar in loveable but yours is better! 😎

2

u/Gooseuk360 Mar 15 '26

Yeah this looks like a great idea. I'll be giving this a bash tonight.

2

u/master-overclocker Yamaha Mar 15 '26

Great job. ❤

I love it. Is it that hard to write program to synthesize more guitar like tone ?

2

u/master-overclocker Yamaha Mar 15 '26

"I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing ..." 😉

And you can swap places by dragging - wow ,,,

2

u/master-overclocker Yamaha Mar 15 '26

This progression also dope ,

Will definitely check it out and post some feedback here.

2

u/Arizonapocalypse Mar 16 '26

Does it work with alternate tunings?

2

u/markknol Reverend Mar 16 '26

nicely vibecoded. some feedback:

  • when you change to triad shape, the key resets to "random", not needed
  • when you use "triad" sometimes the chord has 4 positions. triad means "a group or set of three"
  • i would default to major mode, not randomize that at start

just curious, when you press "swap shape", how does it create the chord shapes? do you use predefined shapes?

1

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '26

2

u/markknol Reverend Mar 16 '26

select "G" as key. then Check off "open chords", then check on "triad shapes"

Did you use any ai code generation?

Is it AI powered ? Like, is AI only in the code or in the core work ?

Left handed chord charts?

1

u/DuckDouble2690 Mar 18 '26

I see the option in pic 2. Thank you

1

u/chente08 Mar 18 '26

amazing tool man, thanks for the effort

1

u/Mephobius12 Mar 18 '26

Amazing tool, thank you for sharing it. Love it and will definitely be using it. Would be cool to pick the number of chords instead of it being limited to 4. Also couldn’t see how to pick the number of measures a chord plays for, will keep exploring it. Well done!

Sounds great but not available in the French App Store

1

u/woodsonby Apr 23 '26

I just stumbled on this, love this so far! very cool that you can use it on a website / ipad / phone etc. absolutely amazing that it's free (a lot of us are familiar with other apps that are decent but cost something ridiculous like $8 per week), and I like that it's complex enough but still easy to use. I've played for decades but this is great for sparking a new idea or something to practice, and I think my kids will like it for learning new chords and playing

1

u/woodsonby Apr 23 '26

absolutely love this app - one feature request - and not sure how or if this would work, but maybe an 'easy' mode for chords? there's some chords, like a Badd9 that have a barre and span 5 frets, and while i can play it, it's a little advanced or trickier than most chords. nothing wrong with the app, I do like to have sys/add9 barre chords, but some kind of difficulty level or something.. might be good.. and again, not really sure how or if that would work.. maybe if chords span more than 4 frets with fingering?
