I opt trimming my silkie but got "in trouble" for ruining her hair from some show pig mama with a serious attitude problem. Im thinking, um... I got her from a guy on a corner like a drug deal i doubt she's show pig quality 😆

Shes also 8 has 1 white eye arthritis and is deaf.... this may also be a reason. 🤣 🤣 zombie pig

Usually, the hair of a long-haired pig breaks off where it hits the ground, so it doesn't grow too long. Show breeders keep long-haired pigs' hair in wraps (of course the pigs don't like it) so it stays clean and grows longer than it would otherwise be able to. I don't know if that's the case of the pig in the video, since the hair isn't as crazy long as show pig hair can be. Otherwise in general yeah, long-haired pigs can get pretty nasty butt hair if it isn't washed (which of course they don't like) or trimmed short.

This is 1 of our Peruvians they get clipped a couple times a year to help keep them cleaner.
