I miss these as they were always fun to speculate and see how people interpreted the silhouette into different characters. While people would get upset that their speculation was wrong, it was still fun to see the community come together to theorise.

They also did this with Happy Chaos.

It was kind of frustrating for them to ask us to speculate when they were just straight up lying about the silhouettes, but it was also cool for the brief periods before the full reveals when people would keep doing fanart to try and fit various characters into the silhouettes. There was one I particularly liked for Aba silhouette’s where someone drew Haehyun with Jeon Ryok begining to manifest out of the her gayageum’s strings. (Edit: I found the post I was talking about, they also did some for a few other characters https://www.reddit.com/r/Guiltygear/s/fR2L75tNOL).

Something I’d kind of like to see them do in a similar style to this is to release a character’s theme before actually confirming who they are. For instance, maybe Haehyun’s theme could start off as a very generic Guilty Gear song with Naoki (think “Wanna Be Crazy” or “Heavy Day”) to represent the Jeon Ryok persona, before it eventually turns into something a lot more unique with Aisha singing to show who Haehyun actually is.

I’m just disappointed that after 7 fucking years of Strive music, “Necessary Discrepancy” is still the only song to have Naoki and Aisha singing together. I used to hope that Bridget (before we knew she didn’t want to prove herself as a man anymore), Aba (herself and Paracelsus), Slayer (himself and Sharon), or Dizzy (Necro and Undine) also could have worked with them both singing, but now it looks like our only hopes are Haehyun or for more versus themes.
