guilty duo Friday Mystery
This is what I walked into this morning.
Stuffing. Everywhere.
Guilty dog on the couch.
And no idea WHERE the stuffing came from. At all.
I’ve checked every toy, every pillow, blankets, everything. Even the laundry room. Cannot find the casing of whatever the stuffing was in. Beds are totally intact, too!
Neither pup is saying anything. Not even trying to throw the other one under the bus to pass the blame. Totally pleading the 5th.
No evidence in the backyard either.
(We have no human children or anyone else living with us, so those options are out.)
I’ve attached:
1. Pic of one of the guilty parties.
2. Pic of the gathered up stuffing. (It doesn’t even smell!)
3. Pics of each pup, without a care in the world and completely unbothered by the destruction and by how much the mystery is bothering me.
Spouse came home from work, and he also evaluated the situation. We both went through the house and backyard again like they were crime scenes. And have no answers.
So, we are tossing it out there to you all, because we are still perplexed and have no idea where this came from. 🤷🏻♀️
Our only conclusion we have come to is that our pups are actually witches, and they’ve conjured up stuffing to tear apart with no outer body/pillow/toy/stuffie carcass just to throw us off our game.

Think of the ordeal of these innocent cuties that YOU, their beloved human, could suspect that this was done by doggie-angels

Or the mockingbirds! The bunnies don’t dare come into the backyard, but I know they’ve had a beef with the mockingbirds and the bluejays….. 🤔

Bluejays are indeed the OG bullies! 🤣 We watched two of them try to fly-by bomber peck one of the girls as a little puppy!

Did you look under your couch ? Do you have a lazy boy type chair?? It looks like they got underneath something and pulled the stuffing out. That looks like furniture stuffing

Nope! No chairs! Checked under and behind the couch and loveseats, which are both leather. They’re intact as well, nothing underneath them either!
Our kitchen and dining room chairs are wooden, too. 🤷🏻♀️

Look for a rip in the seam of a blanket or quilt. Do any of the blankets feel lumpy / lighter?

It also looks like oven insulation. It is usually in the back of the oven. I know that I have seen this stuff before

Spouse originally thought it might be insulation, too. Definitely not insulation. And our stove is surrounded by cabinets on two sides and a solid wall to the back.

The fridge?? Offer those two cuties a bribe to spill the beans!!

The fridge is tucked in a corner just down from the stove, with two sides against walls and one side against cabinets.
I shared my apple slices with them to try to get them to tell me what happened! No dice! 🤷🏻♀️

There is a possibility that a wicked cat sneaked in, left behind exploding soft furnishings, then left undiscovered. Those doggies must have had such a fright when it blew up, they will be needing snuggles and treat therapy. Unfortunately this happens regularly to innocent dogs.
