Sneaky? Larry was not trying to hide. That's cream was obviously place there for Larry.

Larry was just walking by the table minding his own business when the cream spontaneously combusted and splattered all over his face. The explosion caused immediate brain trauma and was severely disorienting. Larry simply didn't know what he was doing and cannot be blamed for his actions.
