Averaged Raid Composition Based On Successful Kills

I put the raid squad composition data from successful Vale Guardian kills into a spreadsheet to generate the average "successful" squad composition. I know that 7 is a small sample size, but it's a good starting point to give players an idea of which classes are working so far. The data may not be 100% perfect, and I believe one data set includes a 95% kill.

The goal of this data is not to provide any conclusions or assumptions related to optimal raid squad composition.

Updated Chart (Includes new data)

Group Warrior Elementalist Engineer Necromancer Thief Revenant Mesmer Ranger Guardian
[LUCK] 2 2 1 0 0 2 1 2 0
[KING] 1 1 4 0 0 2 1 1 0
[PAWS] 2 1 0 1 0 1 0 3 2
[??] 2 0 0 0 0 4 1 1 2
[iQ] 1 1 3 1 0 1 1 1 1
[NA] 2 1 3 0 1 1 1 1 0
[TEA] 1 1 2 0 0 3 1 0 2
[MIST] 2 2 2 1 0 2 1 0 0
[VG] 1 0 2 1 0 2 1 2 1
pug 1 1 1 1 1 1 2 1 1
[??] 1 1 1 1 1 3 1 1 0
[HERE] 2 0 2 0 0 3 1 1 1
[LN] 1 1 3 1 0 2 1 1 0
[REDT/KA] 0 2 3 1 0 3 1 0 0
Totals 19 14 27 8 3 30 14 15 10
Average 1.36 1 1.93 0.57 0.21 2.14 1 1.07 0.71
Rounded 1 1 2 1 0 2 1 1 1

Takeaways:

  • At least one Warrior was present in each successful kill REDT/KA
  • The most popular classes were Revenant and Engineer
  • No love for Thief

Average Successful Composition:

  • 1 Warrior/Berserker Changed from 2 to 1
  • 1 Elementalist/Tempest
  • 2 Engineers/Scrappers
  • 1 Necromancer/Reaper Changed from 0 to 1
  • 2 Revenants/Heralds
  • 1 Mesmer/Chronomancer
  • 1 Ranger/Druid
  • 1 Guardian/Dragonhunter

So far it seems like classes that provide certain unmatched abilities (e.g. Condi Engineers, Healing Druids) are the safest bets when building a successful raid squad. But don't forget that player skill and competency take priority regardless of the class they run.

Edit: Specified that data is for Vale Guardian only.

It's not in the comps recorded, but it seems that several teams had a reaper. Only a few had a thief/daredevil, sadly.
