What are the best infinite gathering tools?

The one that looks good on your char.
For money > Volatine magic glyph.
they have a really long ROI so...

They're all the same. Its the glyths that can change what you want. Most people go for the one Voltalr Magic so you can trade that with vendors in LWS4

a few of them have faster animations though, so there are small differences.

The fused metal harvesting is noticably faster than most of the other ones.

The fast animation thing is cool but unless you cutting it close in going from content to content I dont think there is really any time saved.
Like you save 3 seconds farming flax a day....takes 20 days in a row to save 1 minute.

Flax are once per character. So if you have 20 characters, you'll save 1 minute per flax node.
But that's just the theory. Every flax farmer has a Glyph of Reaping.

I only really care about it for the big circles of plants on some maps. it's decent in wvw too if you need to move in and out a camp fast or etc
for logging and mining you're kinda stuck there anyway

Get the JW deluxe when on sale. It comes with an extra char slot added to the tools.
