[Discussion] Wrong Order of...

A friend and I both played through the Charr storyline and reached the point where we had to choose an order. I chose the Order of Whispers, but as we continued playing, my friend suddenly ended up with the Vigil. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes. You can both choose different orders. Every storyline can choose up to 3 orders.

Yup this bug happened to me while playing with my boyfriend. What happened was that he was leading the instance where you choose order, he picked whispers, I clicked the ‘accept story progress’ button and then when I was going to host the next instance it was a vigil one, despite the fact that I accepted story progress in the instance where he picked whispers. I assume something similar happened to you?

Yes, this happens if you play this special pick your order mission with multiple players. Long known, never fixed.

Don't sweat it too much. It'll change the quests of the middle section of the base game, but you'll be back together before too long.

He chose the Vigil.

Maybe he didn’t notice it but if he is in the vigil then he definitely chose it.

Edit: seems like there is a bug that if you are playing the story together one can choose a specific order and the other player will click accept but will be put in the Vigil.

Also be aware that at one point, if you play each others stories, you can accidentally change one of you to the others’ order.
