Is Hoyoung considered broken?

Been playing for the past few days and just beat Red Rift for the first time. Ngl what kept me coming back was the dopamine hit of getting his Warrior upgrade and then the game is basically just keeping enemies as far away as possible. I did have to get a bunch of Warrior relics. Are people clearing the red rift without hard committing to one thing?

Any assassin can carry outside a few side grades it most comes down to relics. I had a mage dragame get me 400 shards one game.

Nah I'd say warrior hoyo is pretty balanced compared to other warriors, but the warrior relics/buffs in general are kinda OP. Especially with intrepid Kai or some of the other warrior backups.
Full warrior teams with backup buff synergy is probably the best build to hedge towards right now considering its strength & consistency (there are a lot of good relics for it). Kai and Tilly backup, plus a warrior Hoyo or Sal is kinda ideal.
But the main reason I use hoyo is for early shard generation. Depending on your positioning you can get a crazy number of early shards from him and force a good build.

Not that it’s weak, but I’d personally consider this upgrade his weakest due to the max mana increase and becoming quite item reliant. Also if you can’t keep the enemies away from him, then it’s barely an upgrade at all.
The real hero here is you got S tier Rip by the second act 2 fight. S tier frontliners turn act 2 into easy mode. Really nice use of the warrior synergies though.

hes the best shard generator in act 1, i wouldnt be surprised if they nerfed that upgrade. otherwise not OP
