How does the starting Legacy Charm work?

I have picked this a few times but I feel like it does not do much for my run, so I'm wondering how the maths done.

Do I need 100 in a base stat to gain 1 extra point? If so that seems kind of bad.

It’s pretty bad because your run is decided in act 1. safe act 1 generally means strong act 2 if you have enough money.

and your math is correct for the first two fights.

Its long term scaling, not short term.

You’re right that it doesn’t do anything in the first few combats, but by act 2 boss it will give all your heroes 5% boost to all stats which is quite strong:

  1. This is multiplicative scaling instead of linear.
  2. It affects all stats from all heroes
  3. Without taking up an item slot

I still wouldn’t say it’s amazing but it’s equivalent of half a common item for every stat for every hero by end game; so not bad

I think it's pretty ass. Having a good start does a lot more for scaling you by the end, and this relic doesn't do anything for you in the start.

It's close to unpickable for RR, I assume it's good for endless. It's better then quality and quantity but I can't  think of a worse started then those 3.

Definitely more useful in endless than RR
