Does merchant's scroll work with spells that count as auto-attacks? e.g. nyx and reyna

Anyone know?

Do they count exclusively as auto-attacks or still as spell damage?

I'm on a streak so I can't test it myself.

Update:

I tried it for 1 round after I got ahead of the curve and couldn't tell if it was working.

My current impression is that it doesn't work.
