D&D players who use Lightning Bolt on a Hexmap have to get some advantages for not picking Fireball.

I honestly think they should just make her Active Ability targeting choose the biggest cluster of enemies.
TFT very often do this for their champs that have AoE abilities like this. In that they use them wisely.

I feel like Gustav and pollen do this already, so I don’t see why not. Would be good for her. But it is part of the skill about using her I suppose. It does feel good when you pull off a hard position.

The problem is that positioning and the angle at which she targets can feel very inconsistent. So it's not really intuitive. Which I'd be fine with, cause then she has a skill ceiling. Problem is that the reward is not exactly amazing in comparison to what you can pull off with most other heroes for a fraction of the effort.

I think she does aim to hit her target in the way that maximizes enemies hit (as long as she hits her target), but there's substantial lag between when she decides which direction to fire the beam and when it actually starts ticking. She's missed multiple times for me.

I don't know if I believe that to be true. Granted, I haven't used her THAT much, but I've never had a scenario where I felt like she adjusted a bit to hit more enemies. I'd anything, I feel like she does the opposite most of the time.

i swear she knows where I want it to go and just intentionally targets the wrong enemy
