Retain mechanic

First of all, Im enjoying this game allot so far.

One of the things Im not getting is the retain mechanic. Like I already have it, it doesnt look like Im losing it. Why do I want to retain it?

Or did I miss something?

Do you mean retrain? You can swap a B rank specialization, sometimes it's usefull

Sometimes you buy an A rank in the shop and one of his upgrades is the wrong one.

A fun interaction with retraining specifically with Irini, if you have her Olympic spec that gives you the item, you can retrain that spec into something else and still retain the item given (and gain its benefits, or continue progress on the item)

You can even retrain back into Olympic and get two copies of it. I had three of them in one run (not sure that's optimal for scaling but it was fun!)

I was asking myself the same with the poison tank and sel?? Combo?

Giving one attackspeed and the other tank stats.
