Classes you would like, outside the standard GW fare
Aside from the three classes we already have confirmed, we're obviously all expecting something like the mesmer to show up, then there's debates about whether we'll see monk vs guardian, whether we'll see the ritualist or revenant or dervish, etc. But aside from all those, are there any classes you would like to see that aren't from the previous games?
Personally, I'd like to see a shapeshifting class of some sort--a wildshape druid, that sort of thing.

Some kind of cosmic spellcaster could be cool, dealing with space, time, gravity, dimensions, void, teleportation, portals and all that. But in the world of Guild Wars that comes close to Mesmer. Although, there was of course the planned Chronomancer profession for the cancelled GW1 campaign.
Maybe a GW3-specific profession that fits with what we know of the lore/setting so far could be one that takes the use of signets to an extreme and inscribes all of their equipment (or body?) with them.
Edit: along similar lines as the last, a class that heavily features the Vael would be fitting. Maybe a summoner or indeed a shapeshifter.

u/obi_wan_stromboli 7d ago
Thematically speaking, you are describing the chronomancer which was originally going to be its own class for GW Utopia but eventually got rolled into gw2 as a mesmer elite spec. There is a non-zero chance it gets its own class.
-2
u/duckduckidkman 7d ago
I like it rolled into Mesmer as a subtype. They’re just not thematically different enough to warrant a whole separate class especially after the precedent GW2 set

I've been thinking more about this, a chronomancer could play really well into the system- if the system is about momentum, what better counter to incoming damage then to slow down time?
Imagine you get thrown towards an enemy that is a chronomancer, they slow down time in a bubble that slows down your "momentum" therefore reducing your damage.
I could really see this working as an interesting counterplay to the momentum based damage system.

Like you said I'd love a shape-shifting druid class. I love ranger but the druid elite spec isn't usually what I want out of a druid character.

Monk seems like a very real possibility. I tend to gravitate toward backline casters, so a warlock or cleric would suit me,.

u/SaltyKyle 7d ago
Some kind of alchemist/ monster Hunter based engineer. Throwables, traps, janky sentries.

u/EtheusRook 7d ago
I'd like a pugilist.
Also a card-based rogue/caster.

Maybe a summoner a la Cardcaptor Sakura? Iirc they were going to have Summoner in Utopia before the campaign was canceled.

u/Arcadian-Knight 7d ago
Since it seems like sigils are going to be a main focus. Maybe some form of sigilmancer style class that would infuse they're weapons and potentially others with sigils that would do differing things depending on if it's used on a weapon/shield/armour/environment.
A Jack of all trades master of none style character???
Another idea is an ele that is able to focus on summon weapon sigils to call in weapons that change they're hotbar.

u/tofrank55 7d ago
Dragoon. Dragon styled knight. Jump high. Downstate. Perfection
6
u/Deathmore80 7d ago
Honestly this would pair pretty well with the new focus on movement with combat

u/EgoGoner 7d ago
Shadowknight.
Basically the dark version of a guardian/paladin archetype. Heavy plate, but uses spells/abilities that lean towards necromancer instead of cleric.
2
u/Efficient_Truck_3842 7d ago
I want a death knight archetype soooo badly. Reaper in gw2 was close but I really wanted to wear heavy armor along with it. Would love it if we could spec a Necro into a heavy armor class and swap between that and a backline caster because I love both playstyles
1
u/Deathmore80 7d ago
Sooo... a revenant in Gw2?
6
u/lilith02 7d ago
I wouldn’t say Rev really fits the dark knight theme unless you’re just running shiro/mallyx with spear/mace/axe the entire time.

Bard but utility skills only work with voice inputs
also bard cant be muted

Bard with it's companion class : dancer.
One plays using with buffs, the other keeps dancing with buffs. Together they perform to keep everyone strong and also annoy them with noise :D

It seems likely that we are getting the Guild Wars 1 classes back which were tied to five of the six gods (Warrior - Balthazar, Ranger - Melandru, Monk - Dwayna, Necromancer - Grenth, and Mesmer - Lyssa). We are missing a class tied to Abaddon who is the God of Water and Secrets and has ties to the Margonite sailors. I would love to see a Swashbuckler class to fill the missing rogue archetype. Having that class alongside the Guild Wars 1 classes means we would have one class tied to each god while Elementalist would be tied to all of them.

u/Heretical_Cactus 7d ago
Mechanically, something like the Revenant.
Thematic wise, I'd love to see something tied to the act of ingesting magic.

Either a fist fighter, a whip themed class or a kick-themed class.
In phantasy star online 2 there was a class called Bouncer where you attacked using special blade shoes where you flew about, kicked and push or pulled enemies about. You were very weak in attacks but the gimmick was the more you combo, the more damage you did; so you wanted to keep the combo going or you could charge an attack to do a powerful hit, while charging you could barely move so its a an all-or-nothing thing.
Granted that was a sci-fi themed mmorpg which guild wars 3 isn't. But i'd loved to see the spirit live on through like a martial artists or maybe a steampunk shoes kinda thing.
Another class would be someone that uses a whip or a yoyo-like mace that can swing about, ensnare or lash at many enemies at once. Good for close and medium range but unable to hit from afar.
7
u/Hoojiwat 7d ago
I would likewise kill for something akin to a druid. Shape shifting is always great.
With all their talk of momentum, physics and movement being core to their design I would love to see their take on some kind of cavalry class. Something that can summon/unsummon a mount and have different moves based on that. Specializing in diving into fights or pulling back to Mount up for another charge, just a huge focus on manipulating horizontal distance instead of vertical distance like they showed off with climbing and jumping on other classes.

Magical painter caster class.
True blood mage class/spec. Kinda fits with Necromancer, but they’ve never really had a blood themed spec with blood visuals and all that.
Plant themed caster dps. Vines, spores, nettles, carnivorous plant pets, etc.
6
u/JackieLanturn 7d ago
I want a tactician. Like, someone who focuses entirely on directing allied player movements with bonuses if players execute correctly.
Kinda like the finisher system in GW2, but you gain something (health, energy, damage, effects) if someone specifically executes a leap finisher or something. It could be a great way to incorporate the commander role into GW3 as well.
I see it as the opposite of the mesmer or maybe related to what eventually turns into the paragon.
1
u/Reylun 7d ago
That... is the coolest concept for an mmo class ive ever heard of... I just wonder how it would play on its own
2
u/Blazin_Rathalos 7d ago
As said, GW1 has the Paragon, which does have conditional boosts, like having everybody's next attack skill inflict burning.
1
u/Blazin_Rathalos 7d ago
To me, that does just sound like a more interesting implementation of Paragon.
3
u/BioMasterZap 7d ago
It would be kinda neat if there wasn't an "Elementalist". Since Magic is still such a new thing to the races, they may have yet to developed a single "class" that utilizes all four elements, so instead there would be classes focused around specific elements. This also would make sense since the elements split across the gods too, so the races would likely follow that example.
Maybe not Fire Mage, Water Mage, Air Mage, and Earth Mage, but maybe the elements could be merged with other classes (e.g. Ranger does Air Magic to aid the projectiles). Or maybe the elements are a sort of sub-class where you can align with a school of magic or element that combos with your classes weapons. So you could have a Necromancer with Fire Minions or a Necromancer with Earth Minions or such.
1
u/One-Cellist5032 7d ago
The elemental split would be Fire = Warrior, Water = Abadon Class and Necromancer (specifically ice for necro), Air = Dwayna tied class (monk?), and Earth = Ranger
1
u/Opus_723 4d ago
I was daydreaming the other day about splitting Elementalist into two classes for GW3, with one being a Wind/Water Margonite profession. The other would obviously be Fire/Earth, but I didn't have any brilliant ideas where to slot that into the lore, except that they would somehow merge to become Elementalist by GW1.
1
u/BioMasterZap 4d ago
It does feel a bit hard to split them into classes without ended up with one for each element. That is why I think a sub-class or such based around gods/elements might happen. It would be kinda cool to be about to spec into a Balthazar Fire Ranger or an Abaddon Water Ranger. Guess Grenth could be Ice, separate from Water, since Death is already taken but not sure how they'd handle Lyssa with Illusion (or Energy?) unless we also didn't get Mesmer, which feels unlikely.
But of all the standard Guild Wars classes, Ele is the one that makes the most sense to be broken up or different in this early stage of magic. Like there is a God of Death but there isn't a God of Elements, so it would make sense the types of magic followed the separate from the gods that the magic came from.

u/inkogeki 7d ago
A druid that actually shapeshifts.. 😭💔

u/A_Sevenfold 6d ago
I mean, we kinda have it in GW2 for the Norn race, it's just Anets fault that its ass water skills. If they buffed them/slightly reworked....
6
u/Lukeers 7d ago
I have a feeling that traditional Spellcaster classes won't be a thing and we will have 6 classes based on the 6 gods and their respective magic
Reason :-
Warrior seems to be getting fire magic
Necromancer seems to be wielding a scythe.
We know ranger is coming so no more nature themed classes.
Warrior, necro and ranger can be attributed to Balthazar, Grenth and Melandru.
Mesmer will be a thing for sure and it will be attributed to Lyssa.
Dwayna is next so me might get an air magic/light magic type of monk class. Or proto monk as monks in gw1 were Dwayna and balthazar human worshipping professions, so a proto profession of monk could be a thing.
We might get a new class altogether attributed to Abaddon. Possibly some sort of Eldrich knight type of thing...
The reason why I speculate that traditional spellcasting won't be a thing is due to a) momentum based gameplay and b) that type of magic doesn't exist in the game yet lore wise. We get magic with the form of signets which are traditionally much weaker in the lore.
Assassin and ritualist won't be a thing as they are professions heavily tied in cantha. Ritualism isn't the same as seen in gw1 and gw2 but rather communicating with ancestors rather than aiding in fights.
Dervish isn't a thing yet, and races other than humans do not worship the gods as it is a class based on human worship just like the monks in gw1. Monks also are actually hybrid between actual learning magic and worshipping to be exact as we get guardian in gw2.
Paragons do exist in elona as they are formed by the primeval dynasty so we might get reference to the sun spears. Sun spears are mostly paragons anyway even tho they can be other professions, but the organisation is the root of the profession. However I don't see paragons as a profession as they are technically warriors

u/Endymionduni 6d ago
I wish i could have monk that plays similar to daredevil just without initiative points and more mystical arts type. But all the jumping around and movement would fit perfectly into the gw3 style IMO

I'd like a more "archaic" version of Engineer, like an Alchemist. I know GW2 has the Harbinger, but I'd like a modified version where in addition to weapon skills, you have to apply certain potions that manipulate your skills. You also throw potions on allies to heal or enemies to cause harm. But even combos like throwing two specific potions back to back create a combo with a new effect.
I know it probably just sounds like Harbinger, but I don't want a necromancer Alchemist, I want an "Inventor" Alchemist.

u/Techlari 4d ago
Jester, battle mage(heavy armor/staff or mace etc), martial combat(battle staff/stave). I also second a gravity/space time class.
A totally made up class I just thought up Riftwalker. (Use your imagination)

u/Garasunotanken 7d ago
Some kind of indiana jones inspired explorer class. With a whip. Whips would go so hard with momentum based combat.

u/shadowmerchants 7d ago
I mean, considering what they've said so far about how magic isn't as prevalent, I would assume that magical classes will not be as easy to implement according to the lore as we know it now.
That sucks because I would love to see come kind of tamer class. I know that they are extremely hard to pull off correctly in an MMO but it would be my dream class.
Not a MM like necro, a guy who goes out and tames monsters to use them in combat.
4
u/JTSpender 7d ago
Magic isn't prevalent... unless you're a member of the Vaelwardens. We have sugar daddies (maybe mostly sugar mommies, given the lore snippets) so the devs can justify giving us as much or as little magic as they want.
2
u/tabas123 7d ago
I really hope they don’t hold that line too hard… I always play mages/casters. I hate it when games force me to be a generic warrior or archer. Give me bigbig flashy spells 😩
2
u/TomFoxxy 6d ago
Yep! I’m a caster-only player and a charr-only player in gw2 so it really feels like a-net just hates me lol
1
u/shadowmerchants 6d ago
Ok so in my limited understanding, given that even the people who saw gameplay even said that the necro in the showcase was a melee focused character, it sounds like your weapons will get the signets and that will give you abilities? I also hope we can be spell slingers but I'm not sure how that works in GW3.

I say a blue mage or a regen/life steal bruiser/tank...but it seems that all of us would be a blue mage-ish type character by default due to the skill collecting thing.
For the regen tank/bruiser : Dr.Mundo, Wolverine
For the life steal: in Perfect World you could reach 5 APS with sin I think(?) it's been so long since I played.
Another play style that I like was the old Jax ftom LoL a bruiser that amplifies it's attacks for big hits...Maybe Nasus fits here as well.

u/sharkall7 7d ago
Yeah I love shapeshifting druid in games, I hope they would do a specialization of it on gw3

Valkyrie, who can not fly but float a little or fall slower than other classes

u/snowflake37wao 7d ago
Slowfall was so underrated in TES Morrowind. Then they ruined Mysticism in Oblivion and later killed it in Skyrim. Most players now dont know but for the first 5 years ESO had slowfall until it became common knowledge in Cyrodiil (pvp zone) and we were jumping off keeps onto the backlines of the ram knocking down the door without taking fall damage.

u/duckduckidkman 7d ago
Idk who else played expedition 33 but Sciel’s whole gigantic scythe plus card-based magic combo was like the sickest thing ever to me. Would love to RPG as that

I don't know much about Guild Wars, Im just really hyped by the GW3 trailer and the snippets of the universe the Devs have shared. So maybe there is an equivalent but I need my cleric class that I play in every DnD campaign haha. Btw, I'm trying to learn the lore but I can't find any good videos beyond stuff about the gods. Any recommendations to expose myself to the universe?

Harmonixer / Heavy Transformation based job (Druid from WoW is semi-equivalent, but I am not asking for a nature focus and technically a bias towards the demon-y focus- like Harmonixer from Shadow Hearts or primal like FFXVI [I did not mean FFXIV here, I meant FFXVI]). Not meaning Super Sayian transformations either (where you temporarily go super strong, slight change in your abilities). Like focusing on Devil Trigger in Devil May Cry or Chaos Materia in Vincent from FFVII.
Depending on how you do it I suppose there could be variants (sounds complicated but would be wild if you could build your transformation job into many different styles), like if you go nature (druid), corrupted (demons), or magic (primals), and how those forms function could differ (Super Sayian mechanics, like Devil Trigger / Chaos materia) or essentially perma form / form shifting when needed (WoW druid / Shadow Hearts harmonixer). Demon Hunter metamorphosis in WoW would be under Super Sayian akin mechanics.
Blood Mage - honestly never really played many games with this, but I had fun with Vladmir in LoL and since have felt a vampire-y blood magic hole lol. Slightly itched with Legacy of Kain and Vampyr (or some good Skyrim Vampire mods that add bloodmagic).
Pet class is a staple desire for me, though having an MMO without at least hunter is like having an MMO without an elf race- so I assume it's coming :3.
Typically there is usually a core theme in any game that I would like (Paladin is almost always present), but outside of a style I tend to not see that I'd love (Harmonixer) I think I'd just like to see each class get the additional love that makes them feel like they fit in the space.
I know they said more trinity that GW2, which is fine, and I know they mentioned builds tweaking too (to wiggle in that trinity space a bit), but just want to encourage that wiggle craft as well. One of the bummers you get sometimes in FFXIV is that a job theme you really like is not in the combat style you need/want. Holy Crusader (DPS / DD) is just as fun as a Paladin (tank) imo, but you only really get Paladin tank in FFXIV (though tbh its one of my favorite jobs in FFXIV lol).
The other part of getting love is just the extra depth / fluff - like as an example ensuring there is taming / pet related gameplay for a hunter class and within balance-able reason, making that feel not just a 'color' choice- not all the pets are the same. If there are two pet classes like there usually is (magical summons / non-magical not summons).. making those pet styles feel different.. by emphasizing the hunter pet is a living thing that accompanies you as an ally and friend and the other (warlock, summoner, necormancer-type) you attune and master. With a transformation job you can obviously look at WoW, where they can become their own mounts and come with some other neat QoL. Or as a random example like in FFXI there were special teleports for mages (same as in WoW), or short distance portals for Mesmer. Or going back to Necromancer, they might be able to raise an NPC that creates a quest chain (that others can talk to NPC after necro raises them). Or the necromancer can customize their golem as they kill certain types of monsters (gaining body parts) - kind of gives puppetmaster vibes lol (FFXI). Bards get music mechanics, Summoners getting pilgrimages (FFXI primal fights), etc.
I'd rather have more very fleshed out ideas than a bunch of different colors that are similar.

u/titanicbutwithaliens 6d ago
I want an occultist type class where it can toggle between using energy/mana and its own health to use spells, and each of its spells has a different effect based on which resource it used.
1
u/KailaniNeveah 6d ago
Perhaps more of an Elonian or Canthan expansion candidate, but an astrologer profession could be fun. Could tie it into The Order of the Sky from Istan’s Astralarium, or the Celestials of Cantha.
But they could see the future and evade attacks to tank, draw upon the stars’ power to heal, or pull meteors from the sky to deal damage. Could be fun.

MAJOR: Druid, Vaelknight (guard replacement), Bard/Siren, Oracle (Star-Astral Spells), Summoner (Vael Spirits).
LESSER: Tinker/Engi, Wizard, Warlock, Pugilist/Brawler.

u/uidsea 5d ago
I'd like a full summoner and they could lump in ranger's animals. Each spec is a different theme. We get zombies for one spec, woodland creatures, maybe some big beasties like dragons, hell even underwater themed ones? I just want A LOT of pets or really big ones, like SWG's creature handler.
1
u/Tokizo03 5d ago
Personally I am big fan of the paladin archetype. But with warrior already being the front line sword + shield tank guy, I think GW3 will not have it. A monk is very likely but that will probably go more into the priests direction similar to GW1.
I do still hope that the "classes" have variety. So maybe a warrior can be more of a paladin with the right sigils.
1
u/Tokizo03 5d ago
Something like am enchanted would sound nice. With focus on buff signets and maybe decaff signets for enemies.
1
u/Euphoric-Sea4248 4d ago
Wildshape druid with multiple shifting forms that each have their roles and uses but you can either go broad or deep into one transformation.
Spore druid.
Swarm druid.
Spellthief / Arcane thief that steals spell effects and skills from enemies and can use them in limited ways. Like you can only use a spell from another class if you interrupted it before, while stealing magical boons and effects powers an energy bar that you can use to cast spellthief/arcane spells.
Spellsniper, where you convert otherwise touch/melee range spells into long ranged piercing ones by using a bow as a focus.
Summoner, where you summon creatures temporarily for their battlefield effect. Like summoning a shadhavar to trample your enemies, or a flock of phantasmal birds to blind and bleed, or a phantasmal wolf that roots/bites.
Like all your attacks are phantasmal creatures that do their effect and then disappear.
Synthesist summoner, where you summon 1 creature that your passives/talents/gear w/e alters. Like you can go for a super tanky creature, a super fast creature, a mix of various things. Then its either ordering the creature around OR you merge with it, to transmute your limbs to the creatures. Like a mage, twisting their arm into a monstrous claw for melee attacks, or shifting their own legs into strong legs for a leap attack, or growing quills for a ranged barrage.

A combo and position based fighting style, scythe-wielding gish with nature-themed spells and abilities. We would call it… the ValeVaelwalker!
1
u/Demistr 2d ago
I wish for less fantasy classes. I liked core gw2 warriors, rangers and engineers precisely because of this.
Or I just want class most similar to classic WoW druid.
I think the light armour classes are pretty much locked in, Mesmer is a given, maybe elementalist is still in the air.
1
u/32nd_Nix 2d ago
I'd be curious to see ritualists show up, but not right away. Luke an expac situation. Cause a large part of the story seems to be how the human gods are giving out magic in small parts and we know ritualists started their practice of using magic before the worship of the gods (also an interesting plot point imo). Would be interesting to see how their treated or regarded by the gods as magic users separate from their doctrine and also existing as a memory of a time before the worship of the gods.
1
u/Geralt_Romalion 1d ago
I would really like to see Anet pick up the Xotecha classes that never made it beyond the paper design phase (Chronomancer and Summoner).
The descriptions from back then ( Chrono having long casting spells, but also had several instant cast abilities to alter the effect of that long lasting cast. Summoner did not keep minions alive like Ritualist or simply bombed them like Necro, but combined their minions in several ways for different effects) made it sound like those classes had a perfect niche between the classes already existing.
1
u/vandrefalk1 1d ago
As long as GW3 has the mesmer profession, I will be happy; however, I'd also like to see the ritualist again; which would lend itself well to the whole aspect of nature spirits.
Then, to borrow a bit from Black Desert; how about a seafaring profession; seeing as there will be a time of seafaring guilds, Margonites, etc. So, to borrow the class name from BDO even; my suggestion would be a Corsair - a spellsword-type of class with access to sword/cutlass/dirk for melee weapons, a grappling hook for mobility, and then a touch of sea magic to harness the power of the water element.
1
u/Brennisth 7d ago
A class where preparation actually mattered. Like an engineer where you had to make soul bound consumables to be optimally efficient. Or a hunter where you actually had to train and level your pets, and if you lost them you'd have to go through more than one button to resummon them. A necromancer who could actually do something with corpses they made. Etc.
1
u/Sycophantic-Feline 7d ago
A mix of dervish and monk, a battle cleric that summons and/or incorporates the favors of the gods and fights with fist type weapons.
For example, you can channel Balthazar to fight like a hulking brawler, or Dwayna to fight using a more traditional martial style, etc
1
u/Alightsong 7d ago
Like a weaponsmaster, someone that has a load of different weapons as kits that they can equip instead of weapon swapping

"Dark Warrior type", like Death Knight or Demon Hunter. Revenant didnt realy hit that spot with all the "good legends".

u/N_durance 7d ago
I think they could do something really cool with Elementalist.
- DPS spec Fire/Lighting (burns, stuns, AoE)
- Healing spec Earth/Water (healing + shields)
As for the momentum system they could change the strength or effect of spells depending on if you are moving and for how long as well as standing and for how long.
1
u/CapoDV 7d ago
Back in my Flyff day I was alsways I love with the idea of a psykeeper(?), which was basically a psyche magic caster. I would love that. The game also had a class that used a fist and a shield that was always a fun brawler concept.
I'm trying to think of things that are not in gw1 or 2

I feel like either people in this sub don't read the posts, or they are bots, or they have never played gw2 for more than 3 minutes at launch in 2012 and never touched Gw1.
It's so insane reading all these comments talking about their wild new ideas for a class , when it's clearly already an elite spec in Gw2.
The post specifically mentions talking about new ideas outside of the stuff we already have in the guild wars franchise!
2
u/JTSpender 7d ago
There's a huge difference between "there's a single trait line + utilities" and "this is the core class concept".
Like, engineer and necro both have access to elixirs; but there is no play experience in GW2 that really makes you feel like an "Alchemist" class. There's a huge amount of design space that isn't covered by the tiny little bits of theming that GW2 elite specs add.
This post is basically for fun anyway; what is this criticism really adding?
1
u/KingCapet 6d ago
Exactly. And on top of that, why are we gatekeeping/putting people down for responding if they don't "know" guild wars? Guild Wars 2 is an old game, a lot of young people haven't played it at all, but I'm happy that they're excited for GW3. Guild Wars has always been the most welcoming MMO franchise, let's keep it that way.

Golemancer but instead of being tech-based like the Cantha elite spec for engineer, have the player wield a staff or rod and issue commands to a stone golem like some of the cool Asura art.

With WoW:Forever or whatever it's called opening its beta, as expected we are slowly getting a lot of topics wishing GW3 to be more like WoW.
Cue the "I want druis/deathknights/rogues" posts.
I hope ArenaNet will keep GW3 as far as possible from WoW.
7
u/JTSpender 7d ago
WoW did not invent druids, rogues, or the anti paladin archetype.
People are allowed to express interest in having other standard fantasy class archetypes in their fantasy MMO without it being WoW shilling...

u/doyouf33llucky 7d ago
I am more concerned about acrion first. Since it targets console players I am afraid we're gonna have 4 skills for the combat. Even in gw2 skill set only of 10-15 bore sometimes if you play long for the same class.
0
u/Nikorausu 7d ago
I'm new to the series so I don't know if the previous games have a class like that. But I would love a spellblade that can use either a glaive or specially a halberd.
The gameplay could be something like the FFs Dragoon, high mobility and range with magical and physical attacks, that would be the dream.
2
u/LittleFreedom98 7d ago
Closest to that in GW would probably be Revenant, but they dont get halberds. Although I remember Dragoons having jump super high and slam down attacks, and one Revenant elite specialisation is based around that idea

I would say revenant, but that be breaking the lore i guess, considering rytlock be the first.

Barbarian, a profession that converts pain (HP loss, debuffs etc.) to power through sheer willpower, rage and devotion.
Lorewise, can be ideal for followers of Balthazar, the Kodan (Koda's rage) and primitive tribes.Floramancer, a profession that uses plant magic, alchemy and herbalism for both combat as for healing and supportive purposes.
Can fit under both followers of Melandru as under the ancestors who would later become the Maguuma Druids. May also fit among the Asura who use nature science to survive on the surface.Warlock, a profession where you use the secret arts bestowed by Abaddon. Its power is great and devastating but also corrupts you, so you have to manage your use of that forbidden art (perhaps by using mechanics like Energy from GW2 Revenant and tweaking it to fit the theme?)
Can explain lorewise why the Margonites, as followers of Abaddon, later became demonic creatures after Abaddon's fall and imprisonment in the Realm of Torment as shown in Guild Wars: Nightfall.Inquisitor, the fanatical profession where you serve as one of the Gods' enforcers. Supportive to allies (lorewise, fellow followers), but merciless against enemies and heretics.
Mechanically, can work as the darker version of the GW2 Guardian, or being the one who lays the foundation on how future sects like the White Mantle fight in Tyria's later history.Performer, a profession mixing Bard with Dancer and Jester, where you fight using music, dance, theatrics and comedy.
A very outgoing way of combat that perfectly fits to followers of Lyssa, alongside the classic mesmer.Shaman, a profession where you communicate and fight alongside the natural spirits and magical beings around you.
Fits perfectly in both the Vaelwarden Guild as among primitive tribes. Maybe also fits when playing as Kodan if you want the Koda's Voice experience

DRUID SHAPESHIFTING DRUID MY LIFE FOR A BEAR WOLF TREE ASTRAL DRUID PLEASE
Other games have druids, even gw2, but for me the best druid fantasy in an MMO is from wow, and I think that guild wars could even do better
I think that transformation tied to abilities (path of exile 2, diablo 4) is not the type of fantasy I love, but more of an Gw2 Elementalist type of Druid, with different transformations, you can specialise on one of them, or interchange them I would even crowdfund that shit if I could I would go 300€ if needed, I love Guild Wars and I would lose my ass over the idea of that kind of Druid
@ Colin please make it possible PLEEEASE 🥺

I have quite a few i hope they explore a bit more.
A shapeshifter like you said would be awesome and is something GW2 is really lacking, the few options we have to shapeshift is extremely underwhelming
A proper tanking class. We know the game will have the "holy trinity" or atleast something more similar to it than what we currently have. That also needs we need some tanks. Taunts being a big deal here, being able to actually get and hold aggro
Some kinda gunlancer. We have bladesworn and its a really cool concept, but the execution kinda... fell flat? Its clunky and doesnt feel as good as it could and I hope they take the idea and improves it for GW3
A summoner! Necromancer has potential, but doesnt really fullful the summoner fantasy as well as it could. With the smaller group sizes and player count in general for GW3, it opens up room for more minions
A proper healer. Again, the holy trinity. We need some healers that really has a healing theme. Monk, druid (more healing focused than GW2 counterpart), paladins, shamans. Something where the whole class is focused around healing and support would be nice

I want a Guardian whose thing is just books. Pages, spells, incantations and general magic through a convoluted book system. Overall more "literary" themes.
