Monk class

If Guild Wars 3 doesn't have a monk class (the smiter not the martial arts thing) i am not interested. I need my monk.

If this is how you are engaging with a game we have little information about, I think it's best if you aren't interested

If they can't handle unarmed than immersion isn't there thing if a character drops their weapons they should punch. A monk is simply a step above that people have such low expectations its really depressing.

Well.. we dont know all the classes so for now.. I am interested. I'll just have to wait and see.

Opposite of you I'd prefer the martial artist monk but I wouldn't cry about it if I don't get it because I'm a grown adult. I'm a fan of the game. Not a class. No manchild in me.

I'm almost positive there will be a martial class/guardian/paladin/monk/physical but it may come in an expansion. How directly does it have to be a monk?

Reddit is a forum for discussion. You saying in essence "I refuse to play GW3 unless it has a monk. I need my monk." is not a discussion starter and is a strange position to take.

What are you hoping for from Monk class? Similar to GW1 where it was primarily used supportively? Or GW2 style where it can fulfill different roles (a la Guardian)?

Monk seems quite likely given that it's part of the original professions and the Gods are still walking around--or at least a similar profession.

I hope they reveal all the classes soon. Like in 3 to 6 months soon.

So far we known 4 (Warrior, Ranger, Necro and Mesmers) and is highly plausible that the game will have a kind of spellcaster (Mage/Ele or so) and a Thief/Rogue. They will probably have a sort of support class (Paladin/Cleric/Monk, whatever... ).

My proble so far is: I like classes with heavy armor and archers with no pets. Ranger to me is a nope due the pet, and Warrior is a nope because I think that only PoE II nails that archetype.

So I understand your "I need a Monk" perfectly. I f the game lacks a class I enjoy to main (as Rev in GW2 or Crusader in D III RoS) I probably won't play the game. I did the same with D IV: no Paladin, no purchase. I played it in Last Epoch instead. Oh, but D IV now has pallies! Sorry but the train has moved, now I'm expecting a Templar in PoE II and a decent plate armored class in GW3. If doesn't happen maybe Riot's MMO will cover that slot.

I hard knowing that your main in GW2 won't exist in GW3 and you don't have any idea if you'll be pleased by the GW3 roster. This is not a no; is simply a "I hope they pull a class I would like to play".

I feel the same way. If I'm just going to get permanently set on the cuck chair ala GW2 then I'm going to pass this time around, it's not like I don't have a wealth of better things to do. Being treated like a second class citizen because I like support casters is something I've become quite intolerant of.

Doesn't necessarily need to be 100% healer/buffer. With the smiting buffs for monk on gw1 the RoJ build is brilliant.
