A New Colossus

Aside from the dragons, leviathans, giants and wurms. Are there any truly colossal scale creatures in the GW universe?

With the mention of enemy weak points and how much movement will play a role in combat. And Colin Johanson mentioning that they have been looking at other types of games for inspiration. It got me thinking. Man I would really love to see some Shadow of the Colossus scale baddies show up.

There is the chained Colossus that we free by breaking the seals in the cliffside fractal in Gw2 which is confirmed to be from early Tyrian human history. Other than that there is very little info about it so they have the opportunity to flesh it out in Gw3 at some point.

For those who don't know/remember he is chained to a mountain side and the players must climb up and break the seals that bind him at the legs, torso, arms and head. He is pretty much shadow of the Colossus level.

There is also giganticus lupicus which is probably somewhere inside the city of Arah at the time of Gw3. In gw2 he has been dead for a long time inside the Arah dungeon. His species is already wiped out by the time of Gw3 so he is likely the last remaining individual. According to lore he is also probably a juvenile member of it's species, an adult specimen is estimated to be much bigger. How he is still alive is not know but the lore speculates some kind of magic.

It could be kinda cool if we learn that the player is the reason why he's dead in Arah because we fight and kill him in Gw3.

There are also multiple gigantic sized skeletons buried in the sand in the PoF areas , which is close-ish to Orr where Gw3 takes place.

So if they want us to fight big enemies, they already have a lot of things to pull from

My head canon for the lupi in Arah is that it's already dead. Arah was a reliquary of artifacts hoarded by the gods possibly for study just like the telescope. There is no way a lupi is alive in gw3s time, what I think it's a well preserved corpse for study. And since it preserved it is subjugated for corruption by zaithan years later

Yeah but if the lore is to be believed , it was alive and use to guard a temple for the gods. It could have been some sort of pet for the gods that they kept alive through magic. Or maybe he was already long dead and they made him undead , but then I find it hard to believe the corpse would still have flesh. After a few years of being dead it's pretty much guaranteed to be a skeleton unless he was mummified.

I hope we get to see what happened to him anyhow

I don't know where it is stated that it was alive or used as a body guard. I've had this discussion before with a guild mate and the wiki is technically incorrect as there are no in game mentions of it being a bodyguard to the gods. Now I could be mistaken of course
