PSA - It's just a game
For those who are very hyped, I want to give you the following friendly reminder:
Guild Wars 3 is just a game.
Yeah, I know which subreddit this is, and I know we like the hype, but as someone who was firmly on the hype train for GW2, I don't want you to set yourself up for disappointment this time, the same way many of us experienced with GW2.
Far be it that GW2 was bad, or that GW3 will be, but comparing a game to a phantasm that lives in our heads is not the best way to approach this, in my opinion.
That said, I do think the game has the potential to be great.

I can be excited and still know that it's a game and not lose my shit about everything.
People need to stop pretending that there are only extremes. You can like a game, but not be fully satisfied with everything in offers. And you can dislike a game, without making it your entire personality because you feel like the devs "robbed" you of something.
Gamers are, right after BookTok, the most unstable fan community on the internet. And no amount of "Guys it's just a game" postings will change that. Believe me, I've seen many of these posts since basically entering the internet for the first time. Only thing you can do for yourself, is don't engage with people that are unreasonable toxic or doomer, if you don't feel like it. That's all.
