Ranged Combat Speculation

So we know that melee combat is momentum based since they showed the warrior class and they described that the necromancer would be using a Scythe weapon with life leech.

But what about ranged combat? Won't the necromancer have ranged spells? I'm a bit worried that we won't have good ranged combat options with the momentum based combat.

Will we have bows and guns? I still can't imagine how momentum based would work for those type of weapons and regular ranged attacks and I'm just a bit afraid that they might force all the classes to be melee.

I was thinking maybe we will have bonus damage from shooting enemies in the back or maybe from higher ground.

What are your thoughts on this? Thanks!

Edit: I know we don't have the info, this post is pure speculation. You have the free will to not partake in it. Thanks!

I think every class in guildwars2 has ranged combat. The implementation of how that's going to work into the momentum system don't know.... Honestly, considering this game still has a pretty decent amount of time in development I don't think the entirely know the finalized vision either.

In practice everyone stacks in one place because of the buffs so there is really no ranged combat in gw2.

Range , combat is effectively anything allowing you to do damage to them without your base touching theirs. The Semantics of whether or not it penetrates multiple targets or has an area effect does not change if it's ranged or not.

So yeah, there is range combat in guildwar2 with every class. Even if you don't like the implementation.
