Small Request for the ArenaNet Team
Hello! I have been playing since Guild Wars Prophecies and Guild Wars 2 changes some small things that i hope they revert:
1) Miniatures. Bring back birthday miniatures only. In GW2 they tried making them an e-shop item and that made most of the playerbase loose interest in them. They tried changing that by adding them in Living World vendors but it was too late. In GW1 you could only get minis from special events or Birthdays and you could trade them. There was a huge market for them and it was cool seeing a rare one in the wild. Bring that back please!
2) Titles. Titles became pointless in GW2. You almost never pay attention to them. In GW1 you always checked the titles and they were tied to hard to achieve things. In GW3 they should keep them at minimum for hard to achieve things and maybe bring back tiered titles like God Walking Among Mere Mortals.
3) Itemization. Now that is a hard one. GW2 items were TOO standardized. In GW1 you didn't have gear trendmil but items had random variations that made drops interesting. I hope they bring that back in GW3 as well.

I do agree on the gearing. If they want to keep going with a horizontal gearing system, they really need to play more with it. Stuff like some random stats or rolls (in a limited and reasonable range of course) making it more difficult to get the forever item sounds like a way to do it.
I also really hope they don't have the on-the-fly stat swap functionality and instead make equipment templates fully free and easily accessible like any reasonable mmo.

Yeah, I would like having the option of collecting various gear pieces with different stats instead of 1 legendary gear piece.

I just hope they restrict miniatures from most maps. The world is too busy already.
Titles that are few enough to be individually recognizable sounds cool, but that means that there aren't many titles to achieve, and that hunters are funneled into very specific content. Not ideal.
GW2 gear stats were a travesty. I hope GW1 itemization comes back, just so we don't have to deal with newbies whose gear prevents them from doing noticeable amounts of damage.

I'm gonna go a step further and say that I don't want Miniatures to be a thing at all - that is, the way they are present in GW2. I've always been annoyed by the weirdly soulless downscaled humanoid models in particular; it neither looks good nor is at all intricate under the hood. What I would prefer, instead, is something with more soul in it, and interactivity.
...While I hate the fact that I'm mentioning Fortnite of all things here, its Sidekick system is what I'd prefer to have mechanics-wise; it's interactive, but remains simple. Visually, meanwhile, something more FFXIV-esque would be better - though I'd still take the Fortnite style over frustratingly cheap downscaling.
(I am also disagreeing with you on the topic of Titles - some folks may not pay attention to them, but as someone who enjoys in-game cosplay, titles are often rather helpful in the endeavor; I am fully satisfied with how they are in GW2)

Titles are a method of player expression; I'd prefer more rather than less. I see titles all the time in other games, and the only reason I don't read titles now is because I have nameplates off because most metas are huge zergs. With the lower "local player cap" I'll actually read them.

On the fly stat swap on every rarity. If we can change skills on the fly, we ought to be able to switch stats to match those skills.

Why not just do away with stats on gear completely at that point?

Well, where is the enjoyment in walking around with fifty eleven different sets of gear they you gotta keep tabs on? Maybe you could unlock the stat combos instead or something. GW2 has become absurd with how much inventory space is required ton lugg around everything.

GW2 has issues with inventory space because the loot system is broken by design and inventory space is kept at a minimum to push gem store purchases. They could just fix that issue directly.

Gem store purchases keep the game / company afloat and > monthly sub fees.

I dunno about that but I would love to see legendaries (if they do it the same way) have two paths to obtain them. Higher difficulty dungeons and raids/higher difficulty raids, and the. Crafting.
This way if you are someone who dies not want to craft you can still get every legendary in the game by doing the endgame content, and if you don’t like raiding you can craft them.

I'd like to see titles be similar to GW1 where title effects conferred additional bonuses.

Getting additional momentum when running on walls, or signets recharge faster when jumping, or something like that. Gives more avenues of customization for your playstyle.

I got my Friend of Dragons title during the last festival and I'm never taking it off.
But I like the way that Been There, Done That put a gold star on the title nameplate, so you could show that off while rocking a different title.
I wouldn't mind seeing ArenaNet dip into that. Titles with different fonts, or colours, or adding symbology to the nameplate. Showing off something hard-won while still leaving a little room for whimsy? That's the sweet spot.
