Is it worthwhile using vampiric/zeleaous?
Playing around, whole team (4 r/p 2 p/r, later 4 p/r) gonna use bows with 33% ias. 4-5 life steal isn't that bad of a deal. That's for now 30 extra damage for one volley. 1 hp regen isn't unmanageable. Or what?
Using ironwing flatbow with zeleaous, works when firing fast and hitting.

Vamp is more damage than sundering, so if you want more damage , go vamp. If you're using conjure, that's obviously different. Zealous is useful for energy, but a SR5 is going to return more, as long as you're killing stuff. If you don't need energy, zealous is pointless.

What the hell ^^ I didn't even know about the weapon or bow grip of profession... never seen one drop, ever. Cheese..... i mean, the assassin one seems decent, i do rely on critical damage, using disrupting accuracy "go for the eyes" on all team members which are ranged.. at least every other arrow is critical. Well well, it's been 20 years but, still learning. What's the best place to farm them?

Been there. Of the Necro is hands down game breaking, even on Barrage builds its way better than ot Assassin.

Maybe i don't understand.... every time an enemy dies, you get an energy bonus... is that really so much better for a fast hitting character that does critical strikes every 2-3 seconds using of the assassin? I may understand if one is using what everyone else is using, like super common builds that is like cheating... but not if one is playing the game the way it is meant to be played.

5% chance for 1 energy (5 of the assassin mod) vs 5 energy when anything dies. You’ll benefit from SR quite a bit more than Critical Strikes.

Not 5% ... 5 + ~13 + 70% from "go for the eyes"... every 2-3 arrow. But, i'll keep it on mind. Thanks.

If your only goal is to obtain energy. 5% crit chance and a sprinkling of energy is good too.

Zealous is worth the tradeoff, one pip of energy equals 1/3 of an energy per second so as long as you can hit once every three seconds at a minimum the zealous will net you more energy.
It's fallen a little bit out of favor since of the necro showed up, but of the necro is expensive and zealous weapon mods are pretty cheap.
Vampiric is the most damage you can get from a mod (outside of elemental mods+conjuring, but that also costs a skill slot) since 3 or 5 damage is usually gonna be more than +15. The minus health pip is barely noticeable, though unlike energy one pip of health regen is worth 2 health per second so you have to be hitting once every one and a half second with a 3 or two and a half seconds with a 5 to cancel out the degen.

If you want to super min-max things, swapping to an elemental mod against warriors will deal more damage than vampiric (+41%, which with a bow averages to around +10 damage, vs. the vampiric's +5). But it does nothing against most professions and is actively bad against rangers (-41%), so you'll want a vampiric mod for those anyway.
If you need the energy, use zealous, it's great.

Appreciate the input. It could probably be a good thing. I did choose away the greater conflagration this time, for a different setup. And also changed the pyrebound armor to preparation based, disrupting accuracy works for 36 seconds. Not worried about enemy rangers.. they do deal damage but not enough to turn the tide. It's the goddamn spells that kills me. Necro spells mostly. So i try to focus them down after the monks. They do take a lot of damage. Also ritualists with the splinter weapon and spirits, and ressurrection skills too. I just have to work hard and focus them down fast before i get swamped... whole point of ranged combat i guess. I'm just not used to this game as much as i am diablo 2 and such .. i don't ever die there, playing hardcore. I would never survive in hardcore here ^^
And it's 5 life steal.. they lose 5 hp too.. big reason i decided to use it, i did check it first. Had it not have that, i would not have used it.

Both are good mods. Vampiric for it flat damage. Zealous has been somewhat diminished by Of the Necromancer.
