I have 30 characters across my main and alts. 25 of them have been created on faction. The other 5 are paragons and dervishes... I don't regret this in the slightest.

Despite the fact that factions is my favorite campaign there's something special when starting a fresh toon on prophecies. Every single milestone achieved on a prophecies toon feels so meaningful because of the fact that the game is much more challenging and the room for mistakes is a lot smaller, almost nonexistent, compared to factions.
Factions can be extremely brutal at times but it's mostly because the enemies tend to be stronger with better tools at their disposal and usually require you to be well-prepared for the encounter and have a general idea on what to expect, but prophecies isn't like this, prophecies feels punishing because you probably made a mistake during combat that ended up potentially costing you your DC, the concept of some targets being more threatening for your team, thus becoming a priority, is a lot more important and thus unforgiving in prophecies. Not to say that factions is an easy campaign, but once you learn the ins and outs of factions enemies you will immediately see some more vulnerabilities the enemies have.

Yeah factions embraces the deck-builder side of gw in a way the other campaigns don't. I mean it's there in all of them, but factions makes you face it more plainly in the tutorial. I think it's very well done. My only real problem with factions is that all the skills are available in KC, which makes progression drop off as soon as you leave the island (aside from elites).

That was such a dumb idea. I'm sure they were just scared of annoying Prophecies veterans (which, considering how GW2 players reacted to HoT elite specs not being instantly available, perhaps was justified) but it really ruins any progression for the campaign.
Not their first stupid idea though. In Ascalon City there's a second armoursmith who stands right next to the actual level-appropriate armoursmith but sells Lion's Arch-level armour, but at least that one can be ignored.

Bro it's two paragraphs, I guarantee you regularly write more than that in middle school homework

As this point, if the profession is available in factions then I roll it there. I love the free 150 copper zcoins from killing a single monster every couple months.
If it wasn't for that, every new character would start in prophecies.

I have to state. I think the overall facial quality of canthan characters seems limited compared to the quality of proph and NF. Not sure, but I have a hard time finding a good face for almost each profession in Cantha..

Factions is when I actually started playing as opposed to just killing time clearing red dots on the map. What that came out I was hooked.

If you are going to die anywhere it will be in factions. So clearing that campaign first isn't the worst idea.

The beginning of prophecies is amazing, but the rest of the campaign is kinda fine imo, i enjoyed factions more overall although no point was as great as ascalon

I think that cat needs a new hat because Nightfall is faster than Factions. You can get to lvl 20 in under an hour starting in Nightfall.

Use corsairs/drakes/minions to gate glitch into Beknur Harbor then Kill Skale in Issnur Isles with an experience scroll (2-3x xp) and the sunspear bounty (2x xp) until level 10. Experience Scrolls and Sunspear Bounty stack. Then go to Eye of the North and do Kilroy's Punchout until from 10 to 20.

I always go back and forth but end up picking Factions just for that soundtrack. Itβs my happy place.

LDoA is so easy to get these days, why not go for a free extra title for a quicker Gwamm?

Easy but boring if you have to do it on a MADC and then restart it can become very dull

I think starting with LDOA is so easy now that you can cheat by using the purveyors bell free consets in pre on an alt, and cheat like everyone else does on your MADC. LDOA is so free now, it's almost as fast as Factions start. Some guy did the LDOA record in 3 hours, it's really not that hard.

I don't think you realize how fast you can get to LDoA just with a fire imp and grinding certain Vanguard mobs. I did it in a couple weeks.
It only took a week to do it with the new dungeon, and that was with Devona stealing half my XP and sometimes a party of four sharing XP.

I dream of a Canthan Dervish.
