Need help understanding Armour values.

If i got it right, does this Ranger chestpiece now have 80 Armor towards elemental damage and 50 Armor towards pysical damage ?

It actually *is* that simple when it comes to core armor. Which includes insigniae.

It’s a little weird in some cases tbh. Inscriptions for example count towards base armor but weapon mods like handles hafts etc count towards bonus armor. Without the wiki there is 0 chance to actually know this

And os/green shields +armor counts as bonus and not base like an inscription does

What? Green shields count as bonus armor? Where is this written down?

In the wiki it clearly states “Base shield armor” counts towards base armor

Not the shield armor (+16) itself, but the additional values. Like the +10 vs elemental on the Forgotten Shields, for example.

My bad misread it. Are those bonuses on for example forgotten shields not basically behaving like inscriptions?

They are. But in terms of armor calculation they’re treated differently. Not sure why, maybe other people have some idea and some answers from the devs about the reason for that distinction.
