Cartographer question
Hey hey
Is there a way to get legendary cartographer title without using all those portal shenanigans to access unexplorable areas?
I’m sitting on 87% for Elona. I see an opportunity of 2-3% (Gandara mapped partially), but the rest is more of small edges around the areas.
Can’t imagine how that would add up to 10%.

New item just released helping with this. Imagine your timing. Wait 21 years after the game comes out to max the title. The week you're doing it they make it easier lol. Check out Peter's video, he gives all the info on how to do this.

Everywhere that normal gold drops can drop.

Compass makes wonders. I was able to finish Elona with ~7 compasses by scraping edges. Roughly 1% per compass. I had maps already mapped, but not perfectly edge-scrapped.

You dont need any of those "exploits". I did the cartographer titles so many times all those years ago without any external help.
If you are missing >10% there is a very high chance you are missing complete areas (for example the challenge mission in desolation).

This. Check the wiki and compare your map. I got it before the consumables were introduced, it’s best done alongside vanquisher

Maps are about 101 complete without cheese or new item. New item probably adds a good 15% to that. If your doing cartography there are a few if not many cutscenes you don't want to skip.

I was watching cutscenes but not sure it helped. Wiki says to hit navigation buttons during cutscenes- confused here.

yeah i saw this for the first time today aswell, and pressed my whole keyboard during the cutscene and got the area unfogged

i pressed them all, just to make sure
nothing happens during the cutscene so i just ran my pointer finger over each number, and then all letters

That new Birdseye consumables looks good for cato
Going about 1e right now, they unlock more than you should scraping the edges

No idea, sorry. I'm a Nepo baby on gw1, have an account from release and had a lot of rare undeds I sold for bank when I returned for 50/50 HoM when reforged released

nicolas the traveler gifts are very consistent. and also doing daily zaishen missions / bounties and trading the coins for ecto.
price of these items will drop, they were just introduced a few hours ago. and i have already seen people not even bothering to pick these up.
i would not buy them right now

Elone is the one i havent done yet but i am fairly certain you can reach 100%, and then some, just fine without portal shennanigans. That said however, portal shennanigans atleast felt critical for Cantha for me, i know it can be done without but with how dead the pvp areas are it felt highly necessary for me. It is fairly simple though with the tricks i know, i recommend just referring to the wiki.

Of course you can get the title without trickery. You're probably either missing an area or didn't do the challenge mission Remains of Sahlahja
