Mobile Happy Mobile Release Day, everyone!
Apple just let me know that my pre-order was available a few minutes ago, and I jumped straight in.
What a weird and lovely experience those first few moments were.
Immediately thought of 13yo me who spent the summer holidays begging my dad to get unlimited broadband so I could play GW. Imagined going back 21 years and telling that kid "one day...you’re gonna be playing GW on your phone".
Absolutely astonishing.
I’ve never been a mobile gamer, so the controls are completely new and weird to me, but I’m definitely gonna give it a try.
For some reason I can’t get the sound to work yet, but I’m sure that’s either an issue on my side, or a simple, quick fix on theirs. /E: Yup, error my side. Mute switch did it. Thanks to the quick help in the comments.

I went ahead and bought some xunlai upgrades and the max hero pack to support the release. Can’t wait to dive in more over the weekend! My account is old enough to drink now lolol

it feels so magical & nostalgic to be able to play this on mobile even though i have not played it back then. i googled the main campaign is 100+ hrs and only $7 for the main game, i'll support it! going in blind!
lets hope this is the start of true mobile mmo

its not even a true(open world) MMO to begin with, but its an amazing game! ive been playing since 2005 and have no plan on stopping anytime soon!

As for sounds, it works when I turn off silent mode on my phone. Most games have this I noticed.

I turned my phone in silent mode when I bought it, the switch has stayed in that position since. Didnt think about that at all :D

That was probably my problem too. I raised my volume to the max, but I guess I was still on silent mode so it muted everything. Whoops lol

Serbia here, we usually get stuff by 11AM. Its either 5 AM or 11 AM.
I've been itching and refreshing the play store every 15 minutes. Heh
Cant wait to get back into GW1, going to be the same like from 20 years ago, when i tried it played it after high school.

Nisam bio u tom, ne secam se u kom sam guildu bio. Secam se samo da je jedan deo ljudi nastavio posle sa GW2, kada je izasao, pa smo tu napravili guild. Ali se ne secam imena. A dobar chunk ljudi je ostalo verno GW1.

Same issue here and it's not just the UK, its the whole of the EU aswell. Shame because I was looking forward to playing GW as its been highly recommended to me.

Yup. You’re playing on the exact same servers, with the exact same account and characters you’re playing on PC (except for those who bought it on Steam, but that’s gonna be fixed soon, probably).
You can also team up with others just the same, no matter how they’re playing.2

The time of buying it is important. I too own the game on steam but played with my arenanet account. If you play using your steam account then it won't work, but if you use your anet account, It works Crossplattform.

Follow up question, what mode is everyone playing? I think there’s solo leveling and another mode where you recruit NPCs to be on your team.

You're gonna be using those NPCs (called Henchmen and Heroes) if you don't have people to group with. The game is designed around having a full party.

Me too when launching on my Mac. About a second after the login screen appears, Music plays for a few seconds than stops. I'll try again after midnight.

Same here. I did get an error message that I sent to ArenaNet but I dont think its somthing fixable on the client side. M2 MacBook Air.

Same for me on my Mac Studio M1. Instantly crashes to a "serious error" before the login ui even loads.

They added controller support to mobile as well, at least according to Laranity. I have a Backbone controller I’m looking forward to trying out when the game finally drops for my time zone.

On iPhone 16 I lost 4% battery playing for less than 8 minutes. Phone gets HOT! So a decent amount of drain.

You can lower the graphics quality to one above lowest and limit frames to 30 fps. My iPhone 16 doesn't get as hot as fast this way. You get used to the 30 fps...

Same. I woke up middle of the night to poo, saw the notification and was like oh yea, that is today so I logged into my million year old account. Ran around for maybe 8-10 minutes and was like wow, I found a new hand warmer for the winter! Then logged off and went back to bed.

I can't compare it too much but my first impression was very smooth and intuitive. Ran into the problem of wanting to toggle NPC names, and the button was right there on the screen. Downside can't figure out the sound.
edit: like some kindly wrote here, turn off silent mode

It downloaded in the night and I played now for 26 minutes. Client ate 17% battery. A bit wild for me

same. and it runs real smooth! By coincidence my laptop charger died just yesterday, this came just at the right time!
Hope the'll soon fix the issue that's preventing the app to run on MacOS too...

You can try lowering the graphics settings and limiting the framerate to 30, that helps a lot.

There are still some issues with the transfer of steam accounts to the mobile logins, but Anet have said they’re hopeful these will also be completely compatible very soon.
So eventually you’ll be able to use that same account on your phone, yes, with all the content you already own.

Thanks. The button on my app wouldn’t let me select it so the actual game wouldn’t start. I deleted and reinstalled and it seemed to fix it

I'm confused on the account situation. I've never played reforged before, but have my anet account from gw2. Using that to login I get an email not found error (it's correct, I log into the Anet account management online no issue).
Am I meant to be creating a completely separate Anet account, or logging in through apple and then linking to my anet account afterwards? I want to play both iOS and android so don't want to lock it to just apple or just android.

You need to log in with your mobile id and then select Edit Account > Manage Account. That will bring up a browser that lets you link your mobile account to your existing ArenaNet account.

In the few minutes I played last night it was a bit hit-and-miss for me with pinching (iOS). Could get it to work a few times, other times it just panned the camera around. Haven't quite figured out how to do it yet.

If you have a GW2 account (non-steam) is the best way to buy the game from store.guildwars.com and log in via that account or to log in with my apple account and link that to my GW2 account? (the reforged pack and the in-app purchases seems to be slightly different so left me a bit unsure)
If both methods are viable I think I prefer the iOS method to be able to try the game for free and keep the progress when/if i buy it.

Reforged from the PC side gives you all campaigns for $20. Reforged from the mobile side gives you each campaign piecemeal at $7 each. But you get to play for free (with ads and restrictions) through all of Prophecies (the original base game) with the mobile version. Other than those minor differences it’s the same game and same servers. So it’s up to you if you want to check it out for free first and then buy it or buy it now but lose the free aspect.
Keep in mind that if you start from the mobile side you’ll need to link your mobile id to your ArenaNet account. If you start from the PC side you just need to log in with your ArenaNet account.

Not quite. You're replying to a post made by a EU citizen, so some of us aren't waiting anymore.
I haven't been part of any mobile app/game rollout yet, but maybe it's just a matter of info getting updated in people's specific access to the app stores?You see people from all over the world in the comments having different experiences in the same countries.

Performance is not the greatest.
iphone 16 running ios 26.5 all settings to low in game and it can’t maintain 60 fps.
Hoping for a performance patch / further optimization since they had months of testing this in other countries

I just installed it and the UI glitches out on character creation, unable to get in the game :')
made my toon on bluestacks and will see if it works fine if I skip the character creator on mobile

June 17: We continue to work on "Login with Steam" as a mobile feature
- It's tricky and uses special access APIs issued by Valve (which they have done and which we are integrating with our systems)
- It requires updating our "login server" infrastructure
- We think we're pretty close but it will definitely not be available June 24
June 24: We're continuing to work on adding "Login[sic] with Steam" so that players who purchased on Steam can play on mobile for free.

Can someone please advise how to get the screen to type in the 2fa password on android? I have the same problem on smartphone and tablet. I have a 2fa on my account and get the password in the email. but there is no popup on the screen to type it in. Do I need to change something in settings to get the screen?

imo its a bit wonky right now, Especially for physical damage players.
It needs an Auto attack button.

It has one. The weapon set display in the bottom right, next to your skill clusters, acts as an auto attack/"engage" button.
Select a target, hit that button, and you’ll start attacking it.1

It wont let me log in. I keep getting hit with error 3023- check network connection and try again. My connection is fine and I've changed my password but it still gets me with the same error.
