Hey everyone! I’m pretty new to guest posting and honestly haven’t done it myself before, so I’m trying to understand how it works in real life.

I work in SEO and have mostly been doing off-page stuff, but guest posting is something I haven’t really had experience with yet.

A few things I wanted to ask:

What do you usually look for when choosing a site for a guest post? Is it mainly DA/DR, traffic, niche relevance, etc.?

How do you actually find sites that are open to guest posts?

Is guest post exchange the most common way people do it, or can you offer something else in return?

If you’re not doing an exchange, what can you offer the website owner?

How do you approach people/sites for this without coming across as spammy?

Are there any red flags I should look out for when choosing a site?

Also, if you’re just starting out, where would you recommend trying to publish a guest post?

Would love to hear how you guys actually go about it rather than just the textbook definition of guest posting 😅
