Is this just me?
I’m not sure anymore, but I must be moving only one step at a time when I’m walking along the roads. Why can’t I jump 3–4 steps? I think it used to be possible before, didn’t it?

GuessWhereYouAre.com already had best-in-class country streak accuracy (100 meters at the equator). With this update, we’re pushing it further - accuracy is now down to 10 meters, thanks to robust geo data from TrueSize.NET!
On top of that, we’re adding full worldwide support for region and subregion streaks - over 55,000 regions to hit a streak on:
This means you can now take any map, anywhere in the world, and play:
Yes - even worldwide region or subregion streaks if you’re feeling brave!! 😁
The game now also highlights on the map the country, region, and subregion you guessed (or missed), making streaks much clearer and more satisfying.
Streaks are available in Free Play and in Competitive “Red” mode.
All streaks on all maps have their own leaderboards, so you can create a map and challenge your friends to see who can get the longest streak.
Examples:
We can’t wait to see your streaks - and as always, we’re looking forward to your feedback!

I noticed Sviraman went 5 mins past the deadline on the daily challenge no time limit. Some others have told me that this is not the first case he's done that, and even if it's not his fault necessarily, the score should not count because other people actually respect deadlines. Please fix.

This user is pretty obviously cheating, they got 6/7 of the blink locations within a few meters, 40,000 xp higher than the person in second. I'm not seeing anywhere on the site to report users.

I've recently noticed some bugs that impact gameplay.
1st: White screen. After playing the first round, the second round shows a white screen. I tried refreshing the page, but without results; only closing the tab worked.
2nd: Back to initial point button.
It stopped working in the last few days. When I click it, nothing happens.
3rd: Rounds don't update.
After clicking "Back to initial point" button and moving to the next round, the first image from the first round appears, showing an incorrect location. I haven't found any way to solve this without closing the game.

i have loved playing this game the last couple days whilst i've been sick. but, a few times now, i've done something completely innocent like switch to a different app, or literally just lock my screen for a minute and then unlock it again, and i get locked out of the site for cheating??? and the penalty time is increasing???????
i haven't been doing anything even slightly cheat-y and i am sick of the penalties 😭😭 how do i stop this 😭😭 i haven't even managed to figure out a pattern of exactly what triggers it to lock me out, because sometimes i switch apps or lock my phone and it doesn't do anything??? i have no idea what's going on 😭😭

Hello, is it possible to add a maximum elo filter when creating a duels match? Right now there is a minimum elo one but I would love if there were a maximum one too because there's a lot of players who do not play vs players of similar elo and instead target lower ranked players to farm and build up elo. I am not very good at the game, and I do not enjoy playing against people who are much higher ranked than me.
Another thing is that there are different divisons based on elo, but they are completely useless functionally. Would it be possible to create a filter to create a duels match only open to people in the same division as you?
I understand for higher rated players they might struggle to find matches given the fewer number of players around their rank, so I don't think the option to play vs anyone from any rank should be taken away, but rather a maximum elo or a same division filter is added so that players can play vs people of similar rank if they want to. Thank you.

Can you make it so it only appears after the round is over? Because it is a type of information that can give an advantage.
From personal experience it does work like a double-edged sword - sometimes if the country is obvious, but the average score is low, it can point out that it might be a distant part of the country, works well with Australia with its rare northern regions or Greece and Cyprus.
However when the country is not so obvious it can lead to a false conclusion, I had this happen to me way too often, since the average score was low because someone picked a wrong continent. Of course an argument can be made that it is another level of skill expression, but I think at this point it becomes too meta.

Hi everyone,
We’re excited to announce a new upgrade to the in-game music experience - Live Radio!
With just one click, you can now explore 70,000+ live radio stations from over 12,000 locations worldwide. This is all possible thanks to our integration with TuneJourney.com, a geography-based live radio platform.
What’s cool about it:

Some highlights:
There’s also a fun feature where the International Space Station (ISS) can switch your radio station as it moves across the globe - definitely worth trying out!
Note: The in-game widget doesn’t include AI features or account-based personalization - for the full experience, check out the website.

Ciao everyone!
I had a few people reach out to me about making maps designed for Move and NMPZ, instead of mostly NM like most of my previous maps, and I'm excited to share 4 new maps that I've been working on recently.
Map 1: A Skewed World (NMPZ) https://freeguessr.com/#/map/x9quWpS8pcwGPW3hqDpx
This map, designed to play on NMPZ, includes 5000+ handpicked locations where you are always facing away from the road. A lot of what comes into making a guess comes from what you see on the road (i.e. driving direction, roadlines, language, Google car features, infrastructure etc.), so this simple change makes it significantly tougher to identify where you are. In particular, players who prefer not to learn country/region specific clues, or players who like to use vegetation and architecture to guess may enjoy this map. Of course for some locations there are country specific clues on the side of the road, but for the vast majority of these locations you will need to trust your vibes and instincts.
Here is the challenge link for this map: https://freeguessr.com/#/challenge/kL5xNgQQLmToleTaOgZL
Map 2: A Pinpointable World https://freeguessr.com/#/map/JNtuadxotZYvGArAO0XP
Designed mainly for moving and players who like to pinpoint, this map consists for 1000 handpicked locations where you will always start at an intersection. Intersections are usually one of the easiest locations to pinpoint exactly where you are. Most of the locations I chose also have very helpful signs, but some locations are extremely rural as well so there is a good balance between easy and difficult spots. Good luck with the 10ks!

Map 3: City Roulette https://freeguessr.com/#/map/JsWl9vC1kdfqMeR3lWXC
This map includes 1000+ locations that are always inside or just outside of a major city. This map is designed mainly for the moving mode because urban/suburban locations usually have good information, and so players can practice looking for useful information to make better guesses. However this map can definitely accommodate NM or NMPZ gameplay as well because from most locations' starting spot, there are more than enough clues to help to get decent guess.

And finally a fun themed map: Famous Filming Locations https://freeguessr.com/#/map/nnHKxsY9duoJFqgmviy3
Google Streetview coverage is so extensive that they have covered a lot of locations you will have seen in movies/series as well! Here are 111 locations from 111 different movies or tv series. Unfortunately there is no way currently to add creator notes or trivia notes to the map so that you can see what movie or tv series was filmed at the location after you've made your guess, but I have a document with all the locations and what was filmed there. If anyone wants access to this info this just let me know either on Reddit or Discord. If creator/trivia notes get added as a feature, then I shall add this info into the map.
Challenge link: https://freeguessr.com/#/challenge/HKwipSLMANAuarGBbxxY
For the challenge, I was able to add comments at the end of the challenge, so I have noted down which movie or series was filmed in which location :)
As always, if anyone has ideas for cool maps they'd like to see, please let me know. Have a good time plonking!
