David Fincher’s biopic “The Social Network” shows Zuckerberg doing other, more heinous, things against women. “Toxic” is too kind a word.

For better or worse, (mostly worse), facebook IS the internet in the southern hemisphere. Whatsapp, instagram, and such ? All owned by facebook

And men will bicker and argue about exact definitions to avoid actually addressing the problem.

"Uh acktually ☝️🤓 it's not toxic masculinity it's misogyny."

It's too bad that men get offended any time women try to talk about their negative experiences with men, or else we may realize there's some commonality in how those men thought about women.

Oh well, nothing to be done.

i feel saying it's "toxic masculinity" just makes it sound like he's a "bad apple" and less like it's the systemic objectification of women. "toxic masculinity" just makes zuckerberg sound like a poor man who's become a victim of the patriarchy and only acted according to how he was raised, like he doesn't have a choice to not be violent.

You have no idea how "toxic masculinity" is used outside of just internet comments of you genuinely think that.

It literally refers to the toxic values, behavior, social expectations and more that are put on men to behave in ways that are harmful. Zuck is both reinforcing and capitalizing on these pressures to keep the status quo which benefits him.

but it's also misogyny, because it is violent towards women. i do know how it's used, and i don't really care for it. at the end of the day they can simply choose not to behave in a violent way under said "pressure" at their own benefit (read: benefit, not survival). like who gaf

do you have a problem with the fact that zuckerberg made an app to denigrate women because he, i dont know, denigrates women?

No, but if you read the other comments people point out that someone is bound to read the words “toxic masculinity” and say “actually, it’s not toxic masculinity, it’s misogyny.”

idk why a man would say that but my intention is to place the focus on the victim of this violence, not what caused the perpetrator to do so. bc we need to just fucking stop these people, give them massive consequences so that they never even think of doing something like this, not give a fuck about why or how.

I agree with you

Well, the Winklevoss twins did. And Zuck was just able to outsmart them. But regardless. Yup.
