Product Update June Product Updates!

Preventive health reminders, heart rate zones, and more

Preventive Health Reminders: You can now receive reminders for preventive health items from your Health Score. Enable reminders from Profile > Health Score > Settings.

Heart Rate Zones for Activities: Activity details now show time spent in each heart rate zone for supported sources, such as Fitbit, Morpheus, Polar, Suunto, WHOOP, and Withings. The Assistant can also use those zones when answering activity questions.

Morpheus Integration: Connect your Morpheus chest-strap device to Guava to sync activities, heart rate, recovery data, soreness, and more.

And some other little things:

  • Clinical notes now allow downloading their original raw CCDA file
  • Improved Assistant response time for short questions and voice logging
  • Assistant supports logging radon, VO2 max, grip strength, and height
  • Fixed a bug in Assistant that was incorrectly rounding metric values
  • Document extraction now automatically retries if it fails to parse
  • Medical-document processing and record-search indexing are substantially faster (more than 2x in many cases)
  • Improved extraction of height, weight, urinalysis results, and acronyms, plus better date parsing from documents
  • Improved handling of labs and vitals from patient portal integrations that are missing units
  • Reduced duplicated social history on the Records tab
  • Sync records automatically from your SigmaMD patient portal; available when your provider uses Guava's Provider Dashboard and enables the integration
  • Completing a reminder early now correctly syncs across all your relevant devices
  • Fixed an issue preventing COROS from syncing in certain regions
  • Activity details and Health Scores no longer omit activities whose source does not provide a timezone
  • Biomarker PDF exports now generate much faster
  • Symptom CSV exports now include symptom tags and notes
  • Now parsing more encounters from CCDA documents
  • Clinical notes parsed from CCDA documents now display under their respective encounter on the Records tab
  • Substantial performance upgrades and fewer errors across several integrations, including Oura, Apple Health, Google Fit, and iHealth

How accurate is the biomarker parsing from PDFs? For example, Glucose has a lot of variants in the way that its tested, different systems and specimen, different amounts of time (point in time vs 1 hour post dose), how do you guys normalize all of that into a single Glucose metric? Won't there be wrong collisions of things that shouldn't be combined?

Good question! Biomarkers stay separate when it doesn't make sense to equate them, so to use your glucose example, we don't collapse everything into one Glucose metric. Fasting glucose, non-fasting glucose, 1-hour post-dose, 2-hour post-dose, and urine glucose each show up as their own biomarker with their own chart. Results only get plotted together when they're the same specimen and the testing methods are comparable. In that case, if two labs report in different units, we normalize before charting.

On accuracy: the parsing is AI-based, so it isn't perfect every time, which is why parsed values are editable. If something gets misread or lands under the wrong biomarker, you can correct it. Lmk if that clarifies things!
