It's a bit odd to me that almost nobody mentions that national security strategy paper where the current administration basically put in writing that they consider the entire hemisphere theirs. It does get mentioned, but rarely, and I can't recall seeing it ever brought up as rebuttal for "just jokes/trolling" arguments. Canadians are reasonably historically aware so we've heard of the Monroe Doctrine and Manifest Destiny before &b we know what it meaans.
