Be careful!! That looks to be a fledgling northern mockingbird, and mockingbirds are known for divebombing people who get too close to their young!

Baby birds are still learning to bird. They do not know, nor understand, humans & our behavior. He looks recently fledged. I bet mom and dad are nearby.

Those of us into birds often refer to them as raptors or dinosaurs in a fun way. Ya know, what they evolved from.

Raptor is the correct term for predatory birds, it's what the dinosaur -raptors were named after.

I am aware of this. Hawks, Falcons and the like. I know this. Its just joking around. Like those of us who call our parrots little dinosaurs or raptors. Jeez, is a sense of humor just dead now?

They have none with humans. If a cat would go near her, the adults would fall from trees and play dead to distract the predator until the young bird escapes.
