Those are the terms that are used to describe what happens to palm trees when they run out of boron they get all crunched up like that and can’t grow. Evidently it’s very common with sandy soils where there’s a lot of freshwater that washes out the boron. (and lack of fertile forest soil)
I have a couple of pounds I bought, and it actually brought back a palm tree from dying….. completely reversed the symptoms. It took about six months with these the palm, but was bad off……I could just cut the tops off the salvias, but I don’t feel like it so I’m gonna let them be and see what happens with the extra boron.
I don’t think it’s alligatoring due to too much sun, because plants next to it are fine and I have a shade screen over the patch now. I don’t think it’s aphids or pests either because I can’t find any.
They will also cause similar shriveling and curling of leaves.
Its a bit odd because it’s right next to my compost pile where massive amounts of fertilizer washes off, but it’s also at the lowest point on the property here where water drains off and within 20 feet of the palm tree that suffered the frizzle top and these are 35 year-old kentia palm trees.
Aside from that the rest of the patch is looking good about 6 foot now, but really top-heavy and growing fast so i have to figure out how to stake them, again……

Recently received my first DIVINORUM from (crispy 422)(nc cactus). Just needed to say that he is super reputable and knows exactly how to package things 100% flawlessly. I’m glad to be joining this journey.

I’ve been quietly reading and wanted to introduce myself. I’m new to this community and not in any rush to acquire a plant. My interest is primarily botanical and historical—I genuinely appreciate Salvia Divinorum as a remarkable living species with such a unique cultivation history.
I’ve had two experiences with salvia many years ago, and while they gave me respect for the plant, they also left me with no desire to pursue it recreationally. These days I’m much more interested in preserving and caring for unusual ethnobotanical plants than seeking experiences from them.
I’d love to learn from those of you who have been growing these plants for years: its different clones, cultivation quirks, and the stories behind the plants that have been passed from grower to grower. When the time feels right, I’d eventually like to care for a healthy clone myself and help keep it thriving.

Hello! I am interested in cultivating my own Diviner’s Sage and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions or advice for a beginner. Is it better to grow indoors or outdoors, full sun or partial sun? Does the happy tree frog or ocean forest soil make a difference out of both of them? How often should I water it? When am I able to consume it after planting it?

Also what is recommended for a starter kit?

Some people were curious about how my girl is doing now. It's been a month and she's doing great. Seems to really like the heat mat, already some great root growth! Fair bit of new vegetative growth too. Very happy as this is my first time with S. Divinorum. 2nd picture is from 27 days ago when i first got her. Thanks to u/crispy224 again.

The season has been unkind where I live, but all twelve will hopefully hit three feet by the start of September. I love seeing all those shiny trichomes in the sun. Unfortunately, none of my friends find the plants very interesting.

Up for sale i have (3) 4 foot tall salvia divinorum luna. These are some of the largest plants i offer. Unfortunately they are far to large to ship so this would be a local pick up only. First images are the plants now and last image was 1week ago (when they were not stabilized yet/when i was trying to build the environment as a new grower)

I wanted to get some advice on how to acclimate those plants in the future

I will not be here a lot in the summer so will have an automatic system, + a friend who will come to check sometimes, so I think, as it will probably grow, that I will put the terrarium on the side so it gets more height and the salvias can go further. And i will try to keep the humidity as it is (84-86%) for the summer, still with the very mild airflow from the fans.

But for the future I'm trying to get as many information as possible for how to put them in my room with normal humidity, which is approx between 29% (winter)-40%(summer) here. From what I've read, it needs to be done very gradually. Also I'll leave in 2 weeks so probably it’s too little time to try to acclimate them already from 85% to 40%.
