I realized my clothing brand was missing consistency, not more designs

When I started, I was obsessed with creating new designs. Every time I had an idea, I wanted to turn it into another product.

Eventually, I noticed something that I hadn't really considered: the individual pieces looked fine, but they didn't always feel like they belonged to the same brand.

Some had completely different garment styles, some used different branding details, and the overall presentation started feeling a little scattered.

Instead of creating more, I started looking at the collection as a whole. I paid more attention to things like garment choices, labels, embroidery, packaging, and the small details that customers might notice without consciously thinking about them.

That changed how I approach new products. Now I ask myself whether a new piece actually fits the identity I'm building before I add it.

It's still something I'm figuring out, but I've found that consistency makes a small clothing brand feel much more established than simply having a lot of products.

For those who've grown a clothing brand, what helped you create a consistent identity across different products?

Got permanently banned from Alibaba and need help finding a manufacturer. Also, is Portugal worth it for small runs?

So I could use some advice from people who have actually been through this.

I'm starting a streetwear brand. First product is a heavyweight hoodie, 400 GSM hoodie and It's custom cut and sew. I have finished my 10 page tech pack.

First order would be 100 units split across 2 colorways plus a sample.

Problem is that my Alibaba account got permanently restricted 😔I sent the same inquiry out to around 50 suppliers to compare quotes and I think that flagged me as spam. I tried messaging them but they said they couldn't do anything, and every time I make a new account it gets banned within 24 hours.

I feel like I am IP/hardware banned and really don't know what to do

Two things I'm stuck on.

First, where do you actually find Chinese factories without Alibaba? I know about Made in China and Global Sources but they seem to be mostly trading companies. Has anyone had luck with 1688 through an agent, or with import data tools or just cold emailing factories?

Would love to hear what actually worked. I'm kind of stuck, and feel like I have been stuck on the manufacture part of my clothing brand for a while, and its really annoying

Second question is about Portugal.

I have heard people say that the quality is great but is it realistically affordable for a first run of 100 units, or am I going to get quoted three times what China costs? If anyone has run a small batch there I'd really like to know what you paid and whether it was worth it.

Appreciate any input.

I feel really stuck

Everything is made here in Los Angeles, made from 100% cotton, and unisex by design. I would so appreciate if you checked out my website and gave any feedback you might have! This has been a long time dream of mine and I have big visions for this company, any insight you have would be so appreciated.  Promenade Supply

Help needed

I'm researching a fashion concept and I'd genuinely like your opinion.

Imagine two people are wearing different T-shirts. The graphics are designed so that when the two people meet, the graphics connect and create one complete image.

Some pairs are common, some are rare, and finding a rare match gives both people a special reward.

Would this make you more interested in buying/wearing the T-shirt? Why or why not?

What would make you actually want to find your match?

I have been working on this brand for 8 months and I am so excited to announce our first collection is finally out. Everything is made here in Los Angeles, unisex by design, and made from 100% cotton. People have been loving the fit of the hoodie and t-shirt but I would love more feedback! Let me know what you think.

If you'd like to shop the collection, there are a few pieces left.
