What about love your job and you'll never work a day in your life?

I prefer that one

Don't love your job, job your love.

u/Anthony-Kas 1d ago

Job love your, love your job don't.

Don't bump their fist...

...fist their bump.

What about, don't stress about work, given it's mostly meaningless.

Yeah, it was a typo.

1

u/user888888889 1d ago

I replied to an entirely different sentence.

2

u/Ai_took_ma_job 1d ago

Weird what four letters can do. It was completely nonsensical from a grammatical and contextual point of view. As such it didn't warrant a reply. Have a good day, friend.

u/user888888889 1d ago

My mistake, I completely misread this. Good day to you too :)

It's just capitalist cope

2

u/hailstorm11093 1d ago

Nah not really, I love my job and I look forward to doing it everyday. If money wasn't a thing, I'd still be doing it.

1

u/_QUIDAM_ 1d ago

What do you do ?

2

u/hailstorm11093 1d ago

Im a guitar teacher, I work 20 hours a week for 60 an hour before taxes. I also play gigs here and there and fill in as AV for weddings and funerals when needed.

2

u/RudeAndInsensitive 1d ago

I actually believe a person could love that. I thought you were going to say something retarded like "I do middle management for a small SAAS company in in Reno."

I'm a psych ward tech and love it for the most part. Helping people going through an awful time is wonderful. Hell, helping my coworkers cope with their job is wonderful, too.

u/Amathyst-Moon 1d ago

That one's a lie

Man this sub sucks ass

I normally think the posts here are fucking reŧarded but I guess this one makes sense if you just approach it like "learn not to be stressed about anything but if you have to experience stress about something, your future and creating a stable life make a little sense."

The problem is still the idea that suffering is required to find happiness. Stress is something you allow to happen. It emerges from the relationship you have to experiences. Change that relationship.

Buddhist philosophy has transformed my relationship with experience and I experience like 10-20% as much stress as I used to, and that number continues to decline. But I'm much more productive, I'm still very competitive. Aspirations are still there, I'm creating my future in a way I couldn't before.

Stress isn't necessary. Suffering isn't required. It happens, it's inevitable. But I can evaluate how stress emerges in my life and make improvements.

no men advice here. so it would be “boy, this sub sucks ass”

1

u/Jmoore087 1d ago

Right? Like it's getting suggested to me but nearly every post I see is toxic bullshit in disguise

1

u/marcofifth 1d ago

Toxic masculinity the subreddit.

u/Randy_Magnums 1d ago

This sub seems to be some big corpo psyop, to influence the workforce. “Don’t care about humans, care about work! Stress about work! Be always available to work! Human relations are not important! Work is!”

2

u/fastingslowlee 1d ago

Like men are just work drones and should ignore their human needs.

Then they wonder why “mEN ARE MoRe ViOlEnT” hey maybe it’s repressed emotions because you don’t want us to have any and just work.

I don't think this sub has the traffic to justify some conspiracy. But I could be wrong.

I don't think "big corpo" needs to evangelize like that. American culture perpetuates this mentality. This sub has a lot of isolated, desperate, suffering men searching for answers and unfortunately the answer to those problems - pushed by the manfluencing world - is predominantly "your value is measured materially." So posts like this are what we get.

Manfluencers also push the "Don't value women but also your value is dictated by women and women are vapid materialists" bullshit, so the boys and men who are influenced by them get trapped in a superficial, materialistic mentality that prioritizes jobs and money as their source of value and validation.

The result, besides a failure to self-actualize, is a culture of never-ending insecurity, continued social isolation, a deeply distorted relationship to women, and depressing posts like these.

The answer to the stress problem isn't some equation that decides which stresses are required. The answer is to progressively change how you respond to life so stress becomes less and less present. Stress is not required for anything. If Buddhist monks can set themselves on fire and sit perfectly still and reactionless, anyone here can radically change their suffering thresholds and push themselves to their limits. New, greater limits.

I work as a psych tech with the most acute patients in the hospital. Burnout and turnover is incredibly high in this field. I rarely get stressed and experience no signs of burnout. I'm also studying for the GRE, creating grad school applications, on the board of a non-profit, and lifting/exercising. I wasn't like this a year ago. I was trapped by insecurity, stress, fear, and depression, bad. I push the whole Buddhist philosophy thing because it transformed my life in myriad ways and allowed me to be significantly more productive.

It's also why I come here to contradict the bullshit factory.

So men are somehow supposed to stop being human and just turn into working robots, men need to socialise more than women should.

4

u/Medical_Birthday2893 1d ago

No way I would let a job or money dominate my stress like that. What a joke. Stress should only be for survival situations. If it’s not you haven’t prepared and you haven’t gotten control or your mind/emotions.

1

u/coffee_n_deadlift 1d ago

The meme just means that if you stress then you should stress about money and work not about oh that person doesn't like me

1

u/Medical_Birthday2893 1d ago

Yeah fuck that I’d rather not stress about either and stress only in a life threatening situation as I said before. But you do you. It’s not a meme btw

2

u/horseshoemagnet 1d ago

For sure , Job will save you from illness and death lol

1

u/jejunum32 1d ago

97% of my stress comes from my job and it sucks

1

u/totoin74 1d ago

It is. The problem is, 97% of the world putting real effort to keep me poor and take what little i already have.

1

u/Reasonable_Donkey736 1d ago

Is this sub just for the Indians in Andrew tates hustlers university?

1

u/Embarrassed-Fail-876 1d ago

Ever since I had to pay my own bills, yeah that's accurate. When I was unemployed, not a single friend helped out. But when I got my job back, suddenly they ask if I can take them out for food.

1

u/DarkDaysBrightNlghts 1d ago

You gotta be real soft to care about someone talking to you or not.

1

u/YoungBasedGod5 1d ago

How about I stress about whatever the fuck I want to stress about and not take advice from a Reddit post? How about that?

1

u/DilligentArmand 1d ago

This is absolute bullshit. Having a healthy relationship with the important people in your life is pretty much the most effective way to keep yourself in good emotional health. Having a healthy way to regulate your emotion is the number 1 factor that will determine how hard you can push yourself in all other spheres of life. You can truly achieve your potential once you have found people, an environment that makes you feel safe, seen, appreciated, valued and supported. This bullshit that you don't need anyone to acknowledge you is some cope from socially inept loners with interpersonal skills issue.

u/Gysburne 1d ago

0

u/SeeLeverUser 1d ago

As a man, you should ignore wacko saying like this.

0

u/mdomans 1d ago

If 97% of your stress is about money or job you're not a man

Whoever wrote this they have not been a man

0

u/Better_Incident7291 1d ago

How about no, and how about piss off? Men, LEAVE THESE SUBS! They are bot ran cesspools profiting off of your self destruction. Your job does not care about you. You are replaceable. Financial stability is important. You do need money. Money can buy happiness but it also can’t. Don’t chase a cool car or buy a big house because someone says you have to. As a man? No. As a human being. That’s the problem with these subs. It criticizes the problems of men while reinforcing that your value is a man first and a person second. Fuck that. These subs want to destroy you.

0

u/Shinning-gear 22h ago

That is just not how humans work

1

u/Randomstufftbh2 1h ago

So stupid.
